Annoying Error Message

I'm getting this annoying error message whenever (periodically) I use Winamp, or when I attempt to restart/shutdown my computer.

"The drive is not ready for use. Its door may be open. Please check drive and make sure that a disk is inserted and that the drive door is closed."

Obviously, I checked and made sure the door wasn't open. However, it sounds like a program is waiting for media to be inserted. No programs are running in the foreground, and none of the processes looked like they were that type. I also thought that a non-existent drive might be set to "enable" in the BIOS, but that was not the case.

Any advice?
Thanks!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I managed to get the error message to go away in Winamp (There were two floppy drives listed in the device manager, so I disabled the non-existent one) but the error persists when I try to restart the computer. Here is the request info:

EDIT:
I doubt this makes a difference, but there is going to be one more drive in the drive list. (I forgot to turn on my external Hard drive.)

How ya doing, buddy?

Thanks to some help in IRC from Zergrinch, I've managed to make some progress.

I uninstalled the two A drives in device manager, as well as the two generic usb volumes (the card readers). Once I rebooted, Windows installed its generic drivers for the newfound hardware, and the the extraneous A drive was gone. Now I have the correct device listings.

If I disable the A: drive, the error message goes away. If I enable it, the error message persists (when I shutdown, log off, or restart). So, I know it is an issue with the A: drive. That is all, for now.

Thanks alot, Zergrinch.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Update:Problem solved!
Man do I feel like an idiot. I put a disk in the floppy drive, re-created the error, closed the program, took out the floppy, and now it all works. Weird quirk, but all is now fine! Thanks again, Zergrinch!
