picked up Geist for the GC last weekend on a clearance sale with my pocket change. Haven't played it yet cause of work, and i think i'll do a 24 hour run with my friend on it. I figured i might as well, i might not find a deal like that again.

Finally broke down and bought a copy of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, but i can't open it till Nick and Randy are over. We've promised to only play those games when the three of us are present. We did Sands of Time together, and hopefully soon we'll get through Warrior Within.

Went wandering through the meager second hand shelves EE's had for years, and came across Killer 7 and Devil May Cry priced for 10 bucks each. I couldn't pass that up.

Devil May Cry is very reminiscent of many cheif games in my favourites list. I'm enjoying expirencing elements of Zelda, Prince of Persia, and RE all in the same game. It's something you can't get anywhere else.

Killer 7 is visually stunning, and stylistically beautiful. It's like a Tarantino film on my Gamecube. It's hard to understand thus far, and if it weren't for the amazing visual, and character designs i'd probably lose interest in this game quite quickly.

I'm loving both so far.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Also picked up the used discount card at EB. I'll be making use of that i tell ya.

picked up Children of Mana the other day. It's ok so far, not great, but it's just starting, so we'll see what happens.

As far as my other recent purchases (Killer 7, Ghost Hunter, Siren) they seem like they're good enough to tide me over until after christmas.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Got Grandia III. I can't remember if it was this game that people really disliked, but whoever said that should be flayed alive and eaten by overweight wolves. Seriously, this is one of the best games i've played in a while. I almost don't want FFXII for christmas now, because i'll be playing Grandia (this is a lie. I desperatly want FFXII, cause i will want to play that one too. I'm just saying that for effect). Go Grandia!

Just picked up Final Fantasy Anthology, and Chronicles for PS1 today, at the second hand store near my place. Apperanently they had came in that day, and the guy had never see a game fly off the shelf that fast before.

O man, i'm so excited, i can finally catch up on all the Final Fantasy i've missed over the years, but i'm most excited for Chrono Trigger being included in that.

Also asked for Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls, FFIII, and FFXII for christmas. If all goes well, i'll have every FF game except for VII, IX, and XII (techincally not true, i need a new copy of VIII, there's a stall really early on in the game, can't get past it). Once i get ahold of all of them, i'm gonna play through them all in order.

Maybe my second hand searching will lead me to find a copy of Tactics somewhere. Man, it'd be awesome if i could get a copy.

Bought Final Fantasy VIII, and IX new at EB. I didn't know they still sold PS1 games new. Now i just need a copy of FFVII to acheive a sense of security.

Expect a list from me when christmas is over.

How ya doing, buddy?

hmmmmmm, i do believe this is the first time i've had a post deleated. O well, more detail this time.

For Christmas i received:

Kingdom Hearts II

For Boxing Day i picked up:

Command and Conquer: The First Decade
Hunter the Reckoning: Wayward
Wild Arms 3

So far i'm excited about all of them. Kingdom Hearts is amazing so far. It has a comfortably familiar, yet refreshingly different feel to it than the first one. The exposition has me wanting more, and me thinking about it is only making me wonder why the hell i'm here and not playing it right now.

I was super excited to start C&C today (which is why i stopped playing KHII) but my computer refuses to read it. See my thread in Help Desk for details.

Wild Arms 3 i ain't touching until i finish 1 and 2 first, so not much to say there, and as for Wayward, i'm saving it for when there's a lull in gaming.

It was probably a huge mistake getting all of these, as my list of games to finish is monumental, but i think i can handle it.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Picked up Age of Kings DS, and Phoenix Wright: Justice for All. A little disappointed as i couldn't find Phoenix Wright 1, or Hotel Dusk: Room 215, which were ultimatly the title i was out to get. Age of Kings was an impulse buy, and i played a bit today. It's pretty good, no where near as good as the original, but fun in it's own way.

So far i've been completley unable to find Hotel Dusk in any video game retailer in this city. I'm getting kind of scared/annoyed.

Picked up the entire Kings Quest Collection for like 20 bucks. That's gonna be a fun project. I only played VII way back in the day. I'm curious to see the first 6.

Also bought Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. I've never played a Splinter Cell game, so why not start now?

Just the day before yesterday i picked up Final Fantasy XII and Hotel Dusk: Room 215. I was beginning to lose hope on that last one, and can't wait to whip it out. I might get a start on it tonight, depending on how tired i am (10 hour work day started at 5:00 AM this morning, with work again tomorrow around 10:00)

I have quite a list to catch up on titles to buy and play, so i guess it's a good thing i'm increasing my hours.

Oooh, the Kings Quest games are fucking *gold.*
O god i know. I've only actually played VII before. My friends got it once a looooooong time ago, and we've always loved playing puzzle games like that, Myst, Riven, King's Quest, Syberia, you name it.

Quote:
Just avoid 8 if you can... it's nothing more than an average 3rd person adventure game, which is rather sad considering its heritage.
Interestingly enough, the collection doesn't include 8. It stops at seven. To tell the truth, i didn't even know there was an eight until your post there.

Quote:
As for me, I've recently borrowed Resident Evil 4 from my brother-in-law, and beat it a while ago. I'm debating on replaying it and unlocking everything, but it's not really my style... I much prefer playing for plot, and to experience something new.
I'm the same way, a plot and character development person, but RE4 seems to have unlimited replayability. I've played through it five times now, and i'm planning on playing it again on my survival horror pilgrimage.

Aside from my response to Griffin, on friday, i will be finally purchasing Final Fantasy Origins, and Final Fantasy III DS. After that i will own all the main series games (minus XI) except for VII. I'm hoping i can find a copy of VII somewhere soon.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Man, EE had a huge price drop on their used games, and i just got a raise at work. I went a bit crazy the other day. Lets see if i can remember all of them. I'm living at my friend's house for the next while, so the majority of my collection is at home.

Veiwtiful Joe
Veiwtiful Joe 2
Devil May Cry 2
Myst IV
(one that i can't remember at the moment)
Killzone
Syphon Filter: Omega Strain

Also, a friend of mine is moving out of his parent's house, and he's trying to sell off old stuff he doesn't use anymore. I'm considering buying his Xbox, and his games, but i'll have to see what price he's asking for first. Looks like i'll be going crazier whenever i step into an EE.

I'm curious to try P.N. 03, but i can't find it anywhere. Can anyone tell me if it's any good?

Picked up Devil May Cry 3 the other day, as well as something i never saw coming.

I finally found Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense for the 64. Each were like 8 bucks, so i snagged 'em, along with two old 64 controllers the EB i was at had lying around. They were those gross third party imitations, but whatever, they'll do.

I'm so excited right now.

Was browsing around EB the other day. Found Luigi's Mansion for 15 bucks, Hunter the Reckoning for 8, and Eternal Darkness for 10. Those are all games i've been waiting to play, Hunter for multiplayer goodness. Got a team together and started playing Hunter last night. Tons of fun. Haven't played the other two yet, as i'm too busy playing Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy XII, and Final Fantasy I at the moment.

Just got half my money from camp, and am expecting the other later this week. I'm gonna go hit my local second hand store and see if i can't find any gems there pretty soon.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Eternal Darkness is fantastic (if you have a perchant for "not that scary, but genuinely unnerving" horror games), excellent find.
I'm a rather big Resident Evil fan, and whenever i ask for more horror recomendations the first one on the list is either Silent Hill or Eternal Darkness. I've been looking for ED for a while now.

Also bought Pokemon Pearl the other day cause my friend's a retard, and wouldn't stop telling me to buy it.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I myself can't generally stand horror games because whereas in a horror movie, where you just need to sit and watch, in games you yourself have to go through the unpleasant vent or wade through the sewer, while being attacked, etc. It's an experience alright, but not a very pleasant one for me. I really liked Silent Hill and am still trying to get through 2, but they're very difficult games for me, if you know what I mean.

Resident Evil games strike a fine balance between creepy, atmospheric and exciting, with enough gunplay to keep me feeling just empowered enough.

Eternal Darkness got this right too. It's not "scary" in the same way Silent Hill or Fatal Frame can really scare the shit out of you, but the atmosphere is good, the story is brilliantly told and structured. Many of the insanity effects are a tad gimmicky, but some of them do catch you off guard and the spell system works well, especially when combined with the puzzles. Above all I best remember the building dread you felt about the overarching storyline and some of the fates of the characters were truly cruel.
I highly recomend playing the Gamecube Remake of Resident Evil. It terrified me the first time i played it, mostly because it was my first survival horror game. After a while, it's still creepy, but you get used to it, and the game just becomes an extremely well put together story with some pretty creepy parts. It seems to me to be the best place to get yourself adjusted to the concept of a survival horror game.

You've officially got me excited for Eternal Darkness now. I really want to start it tonight, but i need to finish my current games before i move on. I have a nasty habbit of not finishing games.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh, I hear that. I've lately been playing short games just to stand a better chance of finishing them. My attention span with games is terrible, it was a miracle I finished FFXII.

And yeah, I have all the GC Resident Evils, it's actually where I got my introduction to the series. I adore REmake, it's such a great title and gorgeous to look at. I really liked Zero too, despite leech mutants.
Lucky bastard. I can't find II or III for the life of me. Have all the others though.

I hear you on the short games lately too. I'm really hoping Final Fantasy I is as short as people say it is.

fuckin' bump

Picked up Eternal Saga and Xenosaga episode I. I'm desperate for RPGs to play when i have time this christmas. My plans are finish the hell out of FFI and FFXII, play Eternal Saga, then i'll improvise from there. Either Wild Arms, new Final Fantasies, or Xenosaga (I'll have to pace myself on those though cause i don't have ep II yet)

My friend also bought Suikoden IV and Tactics, and has had III for a while now. I feel like i should borrow those from him just to play more RPGs.

My mom told me the story of christmas shopping for me this year. She went to EB games, and couldn't decided which to get me, Mario Galaxy, or Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations. In the end i opened up a present to find Phoenix Wright under the tree.

Call me greedy, but i sort of wish i hadn't put that one on my list, as it's the cheaper of the two games i put on my list this year. As a starving university student, and future starving artist, i need to be saving money. This will either hurt my tuition, or have to get nixed this year, neither of which is something i want to do.

I put mostly books on my list this year, so hence the short list of gaming related stuff.

Picked up Smash Brawl a while ago, just never got around to posting it. Enjoying it, but still haven't unlocked everything. Essays are done now, so i can work harder at it now.

Also picked up Silent Hill origins for PS2 for like 10 bucks. I've never played a Silent Hill game before, and i own 3. It looks like i'm never actually going to play them as i'm super anal about playing things in order.

Recently picked up Advance Wars Days of Ruin. So far it's ok, doesn't feel like Dual Strike, in that it's much faster. I'll adjust eventually though.

Also picked up the Metal Gear Solid collection. It's lined up to be my summer project when i'm done school. My buddy bought it, and that inspired me to finally give Metal Gear Solid a try.
