[Wii] Official Nintendo Wii thread

Am I the only one who's even slightly scared by what they've said for REWII? I mean, from what i've gleaned of this, it has no story, and it's just a repeat of RE4's mercenaries mode.

I actually want a story, not another Outbreak. I'll give it a shot before i pass final judgement.

At any rate, hooo, those prices look a little steep. Hopefully one of the jobs i applied at will respond soon, and i can justify buying everything i'll need to enjoy my Wii experience.

Really looking forward to Zelda TP, and Excitetruck, at this point.

Any news on Saddness? I haven't read or heard anything as of yet, but i could've just missed something.

I think i might wait until 2007 to purchase my Wii. As it stands, the games i really want will be coming out in 2007, and with the except of Zelda, the other launch titles i want, i can stand to wait until the price of games comes down. That and it'll give me time to save up more money for more stuff.

Man REWii looks disappointing, but i heard somewhere that it's purpose is to better connect RE4 to the rest of the serise, to help make way for RE5. I read that in one of the many articles pertaining to the Sept. 14th event.

I'll probably still buy it, cause i'm such a RE whore.

Outbreak made me cry. I had nightmares of the RE games going under after that. RE4 saved me though.

Anyways, yeah, that box are all looks pretty unexciting, with the exception of Red Steel.

As for the gaming log, i'm gonna appreciate it, you know, to see just how much i play. My mom on the other hand is gonna love it so she can use it against me. She'll finally be able to show me how much time i "waste" on these things. I'll view it as an accomplishment, while she'll use it as an attack. Gotta love parents .

Woo, finally employed. Looks like i may even be able to get ahold of a Wii by Christmas. The latest i'll go without one though, is March '07.

And w00t to the 11 million Wii announcement. Sony's shipping what, half a million at launch?

The Launch titles for me are looking a little scarce. At this point it looks like the only titles i'm hounding after are Excitetrcuk, Zelda TP, Metriod 3 and Red Steel.

Basically, i'm holding out until all the big Nintendo names make their appearence on Wii. Zelda, Metroid, and Mario, and other third party titles that are musts for me i.e. Resident Evil.

I hope DS Wii connectivity is done right, and in ways that i'll care this time. I actually have a DS now, where as i didn't have a GBA during all of Gamecube's lifespan.

I'm not exactly sure what DS-Wii would mean though, can somebody fill me in on announcements/theories?

I must say, as the release date draws closer my anticipation is building. As far as now goes, i'm not going to bother preordering. They're supposed to have how many? 17 million shipped by Janurary, or Feb. can't remember. I'll just have to let my paychecks build up and hope i get money for christmas. I'll pick one up in the new year

but it'll tear me up inside everyday i don't have one, and i don't plan on picking up a PS3 until at least 2008. You can imagine how that'll make me feel. Just wait till 2008 and by then, and PS3 turns into the next Dreamcast.

I'm realizing now that i'm going to have avoid this particular forum for a while after launch, until i get my Wii. I don't want anyone ruining anything, and i mean ANYTHING, for me. I'm super anal about that sort of thing. I don't even watch the scenes from the next episode of Lost after each episode. I'm gonna feel weird hearing about how awesome it is, and how it handles, or how crappy it turns out to be until i get my own.

I wish i had a throng of DS toting friends who would camp out with me. If there were more than no one who would be willing to camp out with me, i might consider doing it just for the expirience.

So, is Excite still a launch title in NA? If so, i might actually consider pre ordering a Wii from TRU.

Are SD cards gonna be the only way to save your data on a portable device? Will the Wii have it's own memory cards, or do they reall expect me to rely only on the measly 512 megs they give you with the internal hard drive?

For me, these are the essentials:

SNES: Chrono Trigger, Illusion of Gaia, Megaman (just about any of them (Although i know this won't happen cause of the aniversary collection)

N64: Castlevania (Legacy of Darkness), Army Men: Sarge's Heros, Army Men: Air Assault (I think that's what it was called), Donkey Kong 64, Starcraft 64.

Those are the games that i remember most vividly from my younger days. I could live without any of those, with the exception of Illusion and Chrono Trigger. I absolutley need those games to be on there. It'd be awesome if the early Final Fantasy games could make an apperance too, but i'm sure that's just wishful thinking.

I currently do not have a wireless connection or anything like that in my house. I have one computer, and my TV lines connected to the internet via cables. If i want to get online with my Wii (when i finally get one) what will i need to do to get there.

I'm really hoping to play some Smash Bros. Brawl with my GFF brethern.

My mom asked me if i wanted a Wii for christmas which is unlike her. I think she might be slightly interested in one, and would be willing to pitch in for one as a christmas present. That'd be really nice, but i remain highly doubtful.

Did anyone catch Stephen Colbert's mention of the Wii on the Threat Down?

I'm seeing so much more advertising for the Wii, and it's games, than i have for any nintendo system ever. It looks like Nintendo is doing things right, and getting word out about the Nintendo Wii, which was a concern early on (or at least it was for me...)
