I'm sorry, but this game looks great. I'm not expecting PS2 graphics at all, but the PSP is like a PS1 on crack, so I would expect the game to look decent enough. Besides, it seems Namco has learned their lesson from AC3 and put a fully enveloped Story. And the majority of us AC fans love the game for it's story. This game should be no different.
I'm curious though, has anyone tried to look for this country of Aurelia [sp] on the Map of Namco's world? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Well hold on...in Ace Combat 3, they didnt' have the composers they've had for the last three games, and I thought it's soundtrack was very awesome. The ambient/atmospheric electronica music was great for the future setting of Usea.
To be honest, I wouldn't mind seeing something new and different from the AC sound team. Don't get me wrong, the military-esque music is a huge highlight in the series, but it's cool to hear maybe some rock, metal or hell electronica from them. Oh and on another note...I don't think we should expect a game with 30 missions and 50 Aircraft. This is a PSP game after all, they can't handle that much data. If it's a dozen planes and 17 missions, that shouldn't be too bad. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
And no, we haven't heard Metal in AC...rock yea, but Metal..I don't think so. Most amazing jew boots |
Hmmm, it seems IGN updated their Ace Combat X info and they also updated with a video. Unfortunately, it's not a gameplay vid, but more of a represenative of namco talking about the game. Also, from what i've seen in the video...the 'World' that we know in the AC games, will not be the same world in this game, considering no one has seen Aurelia in the world that Namco originally created.
But hey, wireless multiplayer...not too shabby ;D! How ya doing, buddy? |
I wonder if Megalith even thinks he's amusing. lol
Anyway, IF it takes place in a different world...who cares. As long as the game plays great and also has a good wireless connection, then hey...that's cool to me. BTW, Shonos...Is that a screencap of yours? If so, is that the widescreen format of the game or something? The text looks different. Most amazing jew boots

Hmm we have this Ace Combat stuff around here, yet no one talks about the updates to this game. Gamespot released a PSP video of in-gameplay action. To be honest, I think it's very nice. It doesn't look like a PS1 game at all, and it has the fluidity of the recent AC games it seems. I wonder though if the BG Music is a song from the game :O Dun dun dun. lol. Either way, i'll be saving up for a PSP later this year, hehe. [Don't get me wrong though, there are other titles on PSP I have wanted, but this is the prime game I definitely want.]
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Now that was really awesome to hear. It's very cool that Namco is putting in those modes, some of them really look fun. I just hope there's a lot of people around playing the game, haha.
EDIT: Holy shit, the infamous XFA-27 will be coming back to this game! Don't believe me? ![]() Oh I am happy...very happy. There's also another new plane at our disposal: ![]() And a lot more planes seem to be in the game, including the Su-27, F-5E, Typhoon and the F-1. Just in case you wanna see what I see: http://namco-ch.net/acecombat-x/index.php FELIPE NO

Wow, that's the PSP? That's really not bad for PSP graphics at all. I swear, Namco loves to push the systems to their limit with Ace Combat, lmao.
And man, am I the only one who's happy for the change of music style in that trailer? I'm all for the patriotic, epic orchestra/trumpets...but that got old. Give me back the ambient, electronic music from AC3, which i'm hoping will be in this since that trailers music was similar to that of AC3's. Overall though, awesome trailer, I need to save up for this damn PSP now so i can get that game. Hahaha. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
It's the same 'earth' as where all the other Ace Combats take. Hehehe. I think the year is beyond AC 5 though...with the way the cities and planes are in this game. Prolly after AC5 and before AC3.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Hehehe if only we could play the true and real version of AC3, makes me sad we might never will. You're right though with the X planes...hell, even their cockpits look like the style of AC3, which was laying in the cockpit and controlling the plane through the mind. How ya doing, buddy? |
