Probably because your network is being clogged with porn.
Seriously though, it WILL NOT connect if your network isn't running "well." I can't define that speed though, but if you've got torrents going, turn them off while you update or connect to the channels. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Nothing. As long as you don't do it during updates, I think it's fine. Worst comes to worst on VC downloads, you spend another 5 minutes getting it back. I'd reset your Wii connection to your device and try again. Agian, be sure your network isn't bogged down or it won't connect.

Further reading into these issues confirm it.
1. Check to see if your gay porn downloads are clogging your tubes. 2. Restart your Wii and try again. 3. Panic and call Nintendo if the above fails. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
