Wii connection problem
 

In most circumstances I would have made this post in the Wii thread, but I need a decisive answer ASAP. I just updated the Wii System and all of that went fine, and when I try to connect to the Wii Shop channel, the screen just stays at "Connecting" for far too long than normal. I've easily accessed this channel before and don't know why it won't connect this time. I can't turn it off or anything, so, is there any way to fix this? (I'm sure turning it off at the power point would cause chaos)

Probably because your network is being clogged with porn.

Seriously though, it WILL NOT connect if your network isn't running "well." I can't define that speed though, but if you've got torrents going, turn them off while you update or connect to the channels.

Ha, don't worry, I'm not downloading anything (via torrent) at the moment. And I'm the only person using the connection at the moment so I suppose it's running well. I'm just curious: what pandemonium would occur if I turned the Wii off at the power point?

Nothing. As long as you don't do it during updates, I think it's fine. Worst comes to worst on VC downloads, you spend another 5 minutes getting it back. I'd reset your Wii connection to your device and try again. Agian, be sure your network isn't bogged down or it won't connect.

Thanks, I just unplugged it and everything's fine. Just needed some confirmation to make sure I would explode the Wii. :)

Further reading into these issues confirm it.

1. Check to see if your gay porn downloads are clogging your tubes.
2. Restart your Wii and try again.
3. Panic and call Nintendo if the above fails.
