Both of you schmucks are missing the point. If he wanted to play an emulator, he'd toss them on his computer. An SNES isn't portable. He wants the actual experience, you know, that thing that most of us who played these games as kids still want. Sure, I could load my PSP up with SNES games, or I could own the hardcopy and play it the way it was meant to be played.

Most emulators like Snes9x give the same experience, and even upgrade the appearance of the games. A Wii isn't portable but you can download Virtual Console games for it, games which are 480p compatible and won't look like shit on HDTVs (re: real SNES games). I've purchased
one myself, and now I'm going to have to use it on my CRT because otherwise I'm stuck with poor upscaling.
It's nice to own the original game, though. I recently did that with Lufia II, thing is, most people won't bothre when you can get better quality for free.
