What kind of reviews has this game been getting in Japan?

Just order it from Amazon.ca That way you'll also get a discount.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

However this time, since I'm getting the guide, I hope my preorder can still work, and according to Rei no Otaku, he says yes, for the American EB Games, at least.
Oh, well, I think that Amazon has a 30% discount. It might be 20%, but ya.

How ya doing, buddy?

How does levelling work? Does all of the characters start on the same spot on that grid thing?

Looking at the chart, it seems like there are multiple different areas. Do the characters start with one square in each of the different sections?

How much LP do you gain from a typical battle?

Does it matter which quickenings you give to people? Also, since they can all learn the same skills, I'm assuming that every character can fill each "role" more or less equally well as every other character? Do some characters level up certain stats better than others, thus making them more suitable for being a tank, or magic user or whatever?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Do the different quickenings have different effects? Everybody is describing them as limit breaks, but the only concrete details I've read is that they double your MP. I'm assuming that different ones have different in battle effects?

Does each weapon have it's own look when being used? i.e. sword 1 and sword 2 have their own models when wielded by the characters. What about armor? Does the appearance change when you change what their wearing?

Are you serious? That's ridiculous. Just make one cover. Chances are I'm going to get stuck with the ugly one since I have no choice in what cover I receive. But you know what? I really don't care. I'm going to see the cover like once, and all 6 will probably be printed in the art book just like with the FFX-2 guide. Which reminds me, I should play that game again some time soon. It was really fun.

Could some of you provide me with a review of the official guide. What's the difference between the LE version and the normal one? How does it compare to the stuff on GameFAQs? Is it well organized? Does it give good advice in case you get stuck against some monsters/boss?

Does it at least tell you about all of the subquests and how to obtain all of the items? That's really the most important thing for me.

So I finally started playing this game. It's pretty good. I decided to power level for a bit at the beginning of the game during the solo time and got up to about level 20 or so. The monsters have been a joke since then, but I'm glad that I took the time to level like that as it's allowing me to zip through the story at a nice clip. It's quite interesting.

I must say, I really don't like how Ashe holds her katanas.

I like how I'm level 35 and have the Zodiac Spear. I've got a bunch of other way too powerful armor and weapons for where I currently am in the game, and I'm also overlevelled. I'm tempted to just blast through the rest really quickly, but on the other hand, I kind of don't want to abuse the powerful equipment that I have because I'd like to face some kind of challenge.

Anybody got some tips for setting up the party? Gambits/roles, etc...?

I just re-started this game on the weekend, playing it solo this time. I'm about where I was before (didn't beat the game), rescuing Ashe from the airship (the Leviathan I think). It's really fantastic. I was wondering if I could get some advice for setting up gambits? Specifically for just roaming about while advancing the story. I'm not getting too great results with the stealing gambit I had set up.

Furthermore, should I put heavy armor on my tank now? The official guide recommends that you stick with light armor for the first part of the game.

Last question: what are good weapon/role setups for three member parties? So far it looks like I'm turning Vaan into a dagger/light armor/shield tank, Basch into a sword/heavy armor/shield tank, Fran into a bow/light armor magic girl and Balthier into a gun/light armor magic/support dude. I don't have Ashe or Panelo yet (although I think I'm about to get Ashe).

Thanks.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Can somebody recommend me a decent gambit setup for just running around clearing dungeons and what not normally?

Does poaching a monster eliminate any XP/LP gains?

I just defeated Judge Bergan and I'm in serious need of cash. Where would be the best spot right now to chain monsters for loot?

What's the best armor to equip with Katanas? Light for the speed boost? Heavy armor would up the strength, which increases damage for the katana. Hmm, maybe heavy armor and a mystic helm?

What do you need to sell to get the Forgotten Grimoire's to appear in the Bazaar? I checked a FAQ for the bazaar and it didn't have it listed.
