How odd...my friend and I are watching it right now and I made that comment about it earlier. I don't really get why they're doing that, aside from trying to make them have an 'authentic' accent. Like when a movie takes place in England, they try to have all the characters with British accents.
However, this is badly done.
Also, I think this is the 80s one.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
