regedit problems

Ok I'm trying to get my friend to do some regedit shit so he can play FF8 which he downloaded. When he goes to start > run and types in regedit and enters he gets this message. Any one know how to fix this?

Lol that was the first thing I asked him, but he said he typed in regedit.

It looks as if regedit.exe is the 16-bit version found in older versions of Windows (there is only one in XP.) Try having him run regedit32.exe and see if that works for him. If he is running Windows XP, then this will require a bit more research to fix.

And yes he's using windows xp, I'll ask him to try regedit32, btw is that that the same thing as regedit? What if regedit32 doesn't work, how else can he do it?

Ok it seemed it worked when he went to the E:\WINDOWS and clicked the regedit icon. Thanks for the help.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
