Yeah, I don't think it's that wise to upload a wholge gig. There are far better transfer methods for such large files.
A file hosting site ought to be able to handle files up to 100 megs and have no download or upload time cap. I
hate rapidshare and it's "you've already downloaded 50megs - buy an account to download more, or wait 2 hours" message. It's annoying, stupid, and I truly don't understand rapidshare's popularity in face of this.
Megaupload and Sendspace work just fine. I prefer Sendspace because of its clean interface, but that's just semantics.
As a side note, I've found the megaupload speeds a lot slower than rapidshare.
