Best place to upload a file?
I know a lot of people use YouSendIt, but I have a few files that are bigger than 50 megs. In your experience, what is the best/fastest upload site?
|
Megaupload and Sendspace seem to work well. I think Megaupload supports up to 200MB, and Sendspace is rather fast.
Rapidshare.de also is pretty good. |
Dropload.com is fine too
|
You could always buy your own webspace ^_~
Rapidshare is probably the best. There are others such as uploading.com, sendspace.com, megaupload.com, savefile.com etc |
If you are uploading several files however, I would not suggest using rapidshare. They have a limit of 1 download per 1.5 hours or something.

I'm going with what everyone else is saying, but I prefer uploading via YSI or SendSpace. I'd say the same for downloading files. However, I've downloaded some files from this website and I've gotten over 400kbps speeds!
(*note: lots of pop-up ads in the site I'm linking to) |
Gigeshare.com is another good one to use, especially with the recent limitations on other popular upload sites. There's a progress bar like Megaupload and Sendspace, and the filesize limit is great -- a whole gig.

A file hosting site ought to be able to handle files up to 100 megs and have no download or upload time cap. I hate rapidshare and it's "you've already downloaded 50megs - buy an account to download more, or wait 2 hours" message. It's annoying, stupid, and I truly don't understand rapidshare's popularity in face of this. Megaupload and Sendspace work just fine. I prefer Sendspace because of its clean interface, but that's just semantics. As a side note, I've found the megaupload speeds a lot slower than rapidshare. |
I agree with YSI. Just register to be able to send 100mb, and save your recipients from wading through adult ads, "human verification" and "download tickets".

Rapidshare is the fastest, it maxes my download @ 800kbps. Rapidshare is easy to use and cleaner than many sites. They had a filesize limit, but you can .rar to many pieces.
After you have downloaded 100mb or so, you have to wait 75min or so to download again, so it's best for <100mb files. Of other sites I've only used megaupload, but it was rather slow, and I think some downloads died during the transfer. EDIT: yes yes, Blue_Kirby2 was right, datenklo.net rules. |
http://www.datenklo.net/ is one of the best one I've seen.

No one mention filefront.com ? .. its good at times and u knw.. .. at times.
but it doesnt limits the no. of files / size / bandwidth. It has a paid counterpart too. |
