I recommend getting out of your house/dorm/whatever and walking around. This is easy if you live on a big university campus, for example. Don't underestimate the power of a good walk for relieving the temporary blues. Serious long-term depression, however, will require a doctor or therapist.
Also, the seasons can have a profound influence on depression. If I recall most suicides take place in the Spring... it seems that Winter really wears on some people. So go get diagnosed for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) if you notice a correlation. There are therapies that can help. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
