What you need is the EXTERNAL IP. The easiest way to figure this out is go to www.whatismyip.com and use the IP it gives you in the FTP connecting info you give out. As for port forwarding, you can look up how to do it on your router at www.portforward.com And you don't need a second computer to test, BTW. You just load up an FTP program like WS_FTP or whatever you use to connect to FTPs, type in the info you'd normally hand out and try to connect. If it doesn't connect, you screwed up. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
