Remembrance Day

Quote:
In Flanders's Fields
Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
I couldn't find a Remembrance Day thread anywhere else, so I took the initiative and posted one. Out of all of the holidays we have, I think November 11th is the most meaningful to myself. Hundreds of thousands of brave men and women have given their lives to fight for what our country believes in, paid the ultimate sacrifice for people they don't even know - lest we forget them.

So I ask humbly, that at 11AM on November 11th, please take a minute of silence in honor and respect, and remember those who gave their lives.

Lest We Forget.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I bend the pin almost 90° and it usually stays in unless i'm putting on and taking off the inside liner :S

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Today is the day - November 11th, the anniversary of the armistace that ended WWI.

Please, when the clock hits 1100, take a minute or two of silence for honour and respect of our soldiers.

Double Post:
LEST WE FORGET

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
