Do you use a router? You may need to set up port forwarding. It can usually be set up by going to http://192.168.1.1 with a standard web browser (from within your network of course!), though the specifics vary from router to router.
Another thing to try; if you have a second computer on your network, try using that to connect directly to your FTP using the internal IP address; that may shed some light on things. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Most routers can be configured by pointing your browser to http://192.168.1.1 which is the usual IP address a router takes. But I guess that depends on the brand of router you have, so knowing that would be a big help.
