I didn't realize that BB was hated, but I only played during the free beta. That was my first encounter with PSO, and at first it was just ok to me. But eventually, it grew on me, and I managed to play around 110 hours before the beta ended, with a level 60 something Humar. It was great.
I later bought the Plus version on GCN. Not as great as it was playing online, since the multiplayer split screen sorta sucks because you can't do any quests at all in it. Jam it back in, in the dark.
