I think it's silly that the Pokemon Trainer only has those three Pokemon to choose from. First, when was the last time you had those three Pokemon in your party at the same time? Unless you bothered to trade. Second, why only those three?

I hope this doesn't completely eliminate trophies, but that's a hopeless hope.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm also in favor of the Koopa Kids making a rebirth. Their potential was fiercely unrealized.

As for Diddy...eh. You knew it would happen someday, but I'm not terribly excited, I guess.

Lugia's attack went all over the place in something of a spiral pattern. I'm just making a guess, though (ANOTHER GUESS/ASSUMPTION/WHATEVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT) I'd be surprised if the majority of the Pokemon from Melee were in Brawl as well.

Agreed. I think part of the hoping was that Brawl wouldn't become MUGEN for Nintendo Wii, but, clearly, Nintendo is not limiting themselves to any particular roster, here.

I got foolt by the new thread title. Well played.

I think we all saw this one coming but it's still pretty amazing. I'm personally holding out for some more third-party character announcements but I'll be surprised if there's anything beyond the Sonic clan (you know Tails, Knuckles, Dr. Robotnik and probably some other character will be in this game).

I think it's going to get to the point that if we don't see something from every first-party Nintendo game ever made in Brawl, people are going to be disappointed.

"WHAT, NO FAT ICE HOCKEY GUY? I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NINTENDO GAME AGAIN."

I'd like to point out that Brawl's roster (23) is about to eclipse Melee's (26) with still 4 months until the game's release, and there's a swath of characters from Melee that haven't been confirmed or dismissed for Brawl:

I put stars next to the characters I expect 100% to be back, though they could include all of them and shut me up. I find it difficult to believe that they'll have more than, say, 40 characters when they have introduced a lot of new ones. I'll be happily surprised if they put more in.

You could be right. Though I'd like to point out that the roster as displayed doesn't have the same characters-from-like-franchises-put-together feel to it.

And that a lot of characters are missing from that screen. So, I think we can safely surmise that nothing's resolved on the starter/unlockable character front yet.
