[News] I can't believe they're making a Dragon Ball MMO

I found out about this while browsing random stuff on 4chan.

The shots it shows on their look kinda crappy, but since I can't read moon language I have no idea how far in development it is. I actually like Dragon Ball and actually thought this idea would be cool before. But I bet like all MMOs based off of a series it's going to bomb.

Well the whole point of an MMO is to make your own character. Just like you can't use Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Galaxies. I'm hoping those are just early shots where they were using existing characters to work on the game's engine. If you actually have to use an existing character it wouldn't make sense and I'd have absolutely no interest.

Someone I showed it to actually told me it looks like it's in Korean. But since I don't have most the fonts for most foreign languages on my PC, pretty much all the text just shows up as ??????

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well, that depends on how much of the series they draw abilities from. Their are alot of characters that make very few appearances that have their own moves. If you throw in alot of the obscure moves used by less important characters you could have a pretty big selection. Also, who's to say they won't make up their own original moves just for the game?

Have you even seen the recent DBZ games? This is fairly similar graphics wise. I'm sure they want it to look like the thing it's based off of which is an anime. Not saying it will be a good game, but don't expect realistic 3D character models from a game based off of an anime.

The graphics probably will be better by release. From what I've read it won't even be in japan till 2008.
