If it was coming out this year, they definitely would have released some details by now.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind it being set in Tokyo or some other foreign city. Not that there's anything wrong with American cities, but there are only so many types you can use before you have to start recycling them, and the past three games have already used the majority of them. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |

I was thinking they might do London, but now that The Getaway has practically cornered the market on it I doubt they will now, especially since there is going to be a next-gen Getaway. Even though GTA most likely wouldn't be an exact recreation of London like in The Getaway, I still think they would rather try to go for something totally new now.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I know it sucks, so why should they do something similar to it?

Still, Rockstar is usually about being new and innovative, so I still doubt they'll set it any kind of version of London. Just because one is serious and one is comedy doesn't mean there would be that big a difference in the city itself. The only main difference would be that one version is a realistic, brick by brick recreation of London, and the other would be a "London-like" city that is similar but not exactly the same.
But this is all speculation on everyone's part, of course. You did give pretty good logic on why it could be set in London, though. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
