The fact that these people (both the radio station people and the contestants) didn't even know how dangerous this was is just baffling. I mean, can they really be that stupid as to have never heard of water intoxication? I wouldn't really blame the station though, since it's not like she was forced to compete or anything.
And really, if she was feeling that much pain immediately afterwards, she was most likely feeling pain during the contest, so she should have quit sooner. I really see it more as being her fault than the station's, though they're not toally guilt-free either. Spoiler:

I just saw a story about this on Inside Edition, and they talked to the woman who won the Wii, meaning that Jennifer Strange didn't even win after all that(she came in second). She said that Strange had started looking sick before the contest was even over, and even had her belly protruding to the point that she looked pregnant.
