It's just a mistake. I mean, if it was supposed to come out today, it would say now shipping, not Pre-Release. My guess is that it's supposed to say 5/24/06.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The point is the strategy guide. Look at the date on it (which they have now changed to Wednesay), it comes out before the game does, which wouldn't make since considering how secretive Nintendo has been about the game.

I don't think Nintendo will ever really mess up in the 2D department, no matter how many 3D platformers they make. I mean, most people said that Super Princess Peach was a good 2D game that was similar to the Mario games, so I have no reason to believe that an actual Mario game would be bad.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

There is no official news on the DS Lite's release date in America, though most people are speculating it will be around the same time New Super Mario Bros. comes out here. Nintendo will most likely make it official at E3.

Today should only be the day it ships, so I don't even know how some stores got it early enough to sell yesterday. Regardless, I'm waiting to get it tomorrow at Circuit City (they say it should be in stores by 5pm), who's selling it for only $28! A seven dollar discount is good enough to wait for, in my opinion.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Just wanted to mention that they also finally updated the website today. They've added more videos, and basically just made it a real website now. Check it out!

I just got the game, and so far I've played the first two stages and a couple of the minigames. This game is freaking awesome, no doubt about it! If you even think you want this game, just go and get it because you will love it.

I'll try and see if I can get some multiplayer done tonight, since my sister also got the game today. I expect that to be awesome as well.

Oh man, the multiplayer is pretty awesome. As cool as Mario vs. Luigi was, I think I enjoyed playing the minigames more.

If you seen any of the videos for Mario vs. Luigi, you basically already know what it is. One person plays as Mario, the other as Luigi, and you race around a looping stage collecting big stars that randomly appear. The first player to get the amount of stars that's predetermined by the player before the round wins that round, and whoever wins the most rounds wins the game. You can also hit your opponent to make them drop one of their stars so that you can try to get it. Also, all of the powerups from the main game are usable as well. This is fun for some time, but there isn't much variety except in the different stages.

The minigames are the real fun, in my opinion. They add more games than what's available in each of the categories (Action, Puzzle, and Table) in one player mode, and they also added a whole new category (1 on 1) with some new games as well. You can choose to play them in random mode, where you just pick the category and the game chooses the minigames you play and how many stars they're worth (in this mode, whoever has the most stars at the end wins), or in free play mode, where one of the players chooses the specific minigames and its star value (in this mode, whoever reaches a certain amount of stars first wins). I liked this mode better since the games had more variety, and were just more fun in general.

Overall though, the main game still holds the most appeal. If you need to take a break from the main game, or you just need something to do afterwards, the multiplayer is definitely worth your time.

Something just seems wrong about what you said. I mean, aren't strategy guides for people who want to do everything there is in a game? It seems like if all you wanted to do was play a game straight through, without doing extra stuff, you could easily do this without using a strategy guide. That's just me though, I'm not trying to start an argument or anything.

Okay, but if they are 80 levels that are made to be finished in like less than five minutes each (since they are timed), the game really isn't that long. Just because there are a lot of levels doesn't mean that the game is long, which is true of the original SMB (Seriously, how long does it take you beat that game? It doesn't even have any type of save system (password or otherwise), so it obviously wasn't made to be a terribly long game.).

You seem to think that just because I'm calling the game short that I'm saying it's bad as well. But I'm not. I love the game, as I like a lot of games, no matter how long it is. Truth is though, this game was pretty short, and I don't see anybody else really disagreeing with that.

I started from the first stage, and played every stage between there and the last stage (I never used the warp cannons), and I got every star coin along the way, and this game took me way less than 10 hours to complete. That isn't a very long time to me, and since the Omnislash was asking for games that could last a while, I just mentioned that I felt that this game wasn't very long (especially for the amount of time he seemed to be needing it for).

As for calling it the best game on the DS, whatever, that's your opinion. I don't personally agree with it (it's one of the best, but not the best, especially in terms of using all of the DS functions), but that's not even what we're talking about, so I won't touch on that subject (I really don't even see why you brought it up).

There's nowhere I can't reach.
