I may have just seen one of the greatest movies ever...
![]() But it's a bit early to tell. Seriously though, this is the best "fish-out-of-water" children's fantasy film I've seen since, well, childhood. Anyone who wants to relive Labyrinth or Dark Crystal -- but actually stay entertained throughout -- watch this NOW. Jam it back in, in the dark.

Argarg. Fixed.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The premise is basically Gaiman's and McKean's take on Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz -- "fish-out-of-water" stories. Nothing original, but sharply written and lots of visual flair.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Actually, the movie was written Neil Gaiman and directed by Dave McKean. Jim Hensons's been dead for over 10 years, though the Henson Company put up the money for the movie.
