No, he is a funny/evil villain. But actually, how do you know if he didn't act this way in previous Mario games. There never was a time when you got to see Bowser outside of when you were beating him up. He could have always been this way >_>

But anyways, those Bowser levels in Paper Mario 2 were indeed fun. It made me wish Bowser had his own Super Bowser Bros. series. I really enjoyed playing it. Bowser was the funniest character in the entire game. Not to mention Kammy Koopa (was that her name?) was funny as well.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

No You're not being stupid. Bowser is becoming more of a joke then a villain. He might make a comeback in this game.

I'm pretty sure I remember him wall jumping in an early demo.

It probably won't be that big of a deal though, since only a fraction of the levels will probably have walls. I don't like they'll have Megaman X like slides though, where you can jump up the entire wall if you want to.

Double Post:
BTW, am I the only one whose interested in the music?

I've been wanting to get my hands on this game just to hear it.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

A lot of times I think Nintendo basically just hypes up the games and then pushes it back inch by inch to keep people still trusting in them and keeping their console.

My main gripe with the game was that I thought it would be too easy. Those screens make me think it will have some difficulty to it. But not too much.

*sigh* Lakitu. More old nemesis. I guess the game is going to be harder than I thought. I never like Lakitu. Such a distraction. I mean, who just randomly throws likes at you for no reason?

A question I have is, can you go backwards in the normal levels? Is it like the first Mario Bros where you could only go forward?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Yes! I thought that was really cute.

The music really seems dull though. It's really a disappointment for me. I'd expect it to me more memorable then the childish feel to it.

What do you mean, "it's mario music"? I'd expect the game to have some actual good music like all of the other Mario platformers.

I don't want any dull 'remixes' of songs I've already heard or this new main theme that doesn't interest me much.

The music was really like the only thing that I was really anticipating about the game. I'm disappointed in what I've heard so far.

How ya doing, buddy?

The music was basically the only thing I was excited about. Sorry that the thought of someone caring for the music confuses you.

I'd say the past games had better music but judging by your responses, it doesn't seem like you even care about the music so it's kinda pointless to discuss this when you don't really care. =/

Sorry, but you're a retard. It's a traditional Mario platformer. To think the music would be anything but what would fit in a traditional Mario platformer would make you the most naïve and retarded person ever.
I was hoping the music to be atleast as catchy as the Super Mario Bros. theme or the Super Mario Land theme (great memories in that theme). I'm sorry if I'm naive for thinking the music would be better quality.

I know. As I've said earlier, so far, I'm disappointed.
Especially with that underground theme. (which is just a remix of the old underground theme)

Oh, okay. Well that makes me feel a little better about it. I did think the music didn't sound like Koji Kondo quality though. Oh well. I'm still really excited for the game.

Double Post:
Oh yeah, did anyone else think that mario has really speed up in this game?

He was zooming in the underground video I watched.

He may just have completely beaten Sonic. Mario combined good platforming with good speed.

It was a bit of an exaggeration but I'm just surprised at how much faster he was going then the previous Mario speeds. I wonder if they sped Mario up as a response to people previously complaining about how mario ran like an old man compared to sonic.

This reminds me off the enhancement to Fludd in Super Mario Sunshine. Mario actually did go as fast as sonic with it. Super Mario Sunshine...good times...

Nah, just a memorable theme that can be remembered over the years. When I made the post I was thinking of how much I liked the Mario Land theme a while back. It stayed with me. I just want the music from this game to do the same.

Oh well, carry on with the topic!

I was speaking idiomatically.

2D hasn't really been the focus of consoles since the N64 came out.

Maybe one day we will get more good 2D games on home consoles, but I don't think it will be anytime soon.

I would have loved this game so much if the music was so awful.

That main overworld theme was an assault on my poor little ears.

If the music was actually, "good" then this game could have been truly great.
