I hope they kept the SMS style of wall-kick-jumping (I prefer calling it that, sounds cooler), though. They made it a lot more intuitive in that game, somehow. I think it had a drag factor, which was nice.
This game is looking awesome. Like the equivalent of lubing up my DS and using the clamshell as an impromptu vagina. Except even better, because that's incredibly weird and would probably hurt a lot. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
What's the point of that? I guess it's a sales count thing, but it still seems kinda silly.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I thought they said they removed the triple jump. Not sure about that, but I think it's the case.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I'm annoyed by the general focus on the Giant Mushroom item. Those portions of the game look really boring (just run run run and automatically win), and it's bothersome that there's so much press about just that.
I really hope there's not as much focus on that item as there seems to be, because that'd be really shitty. The item is some crap item I'd expect to see in some terrible platformer like Crash or Jak, not Mario. I don't think there will be, but the fact that they're showing it so damn much still worries me. Frankly, I'm not as excited for this as I feel like I should be. But then again, I don't think I've seen anything worth getting excited over (I've been following news about it very casually). I may have to play it to "get it", though I'm not sure why. I've played every other Mario platformer, you think I'd know as well as anyone just by looking. Ah well. I'm going to buy it on principle, and I don't really expect to be disappointed. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Oh snap!
I need to get this game. I'm going to take my time, though, I'll go ahead and beat Fire Emblem first, and get this late May when I don't have to preorder it. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Yeah, ditto. Game is awesome.
I hardly use the turtle power up or the mini-shroom (or big shroom for that matter), though I imagine I'll use the mini-shroom more, when I'm collecting coins I missed later. Still, everything else is awesome. I love the raw platforming goodness. Although I wish the mini-boss (kid bowser) battles were more diverse. Homage to SMB3, I guess, but they could have done something more new. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Getting the coins has been no simple task, for me. Beating the main game was mostly pretty simple. Fun, but relatively easy.
The coins are a bit more difficult. By the way, the turtle shell thing is alright, but I really like the mini mushroom. I just find the platforming to have a very different feel with it, and I play through entire levels like that. More challenging, too, since you're tiny and you can't get hit. FELIPE NO |
I would go so far as to say the multiplayer is the most fun I've had since SSBM.
My friend and I laughed ridiculously hard playing it. It was awesome and intense and fun. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
