I'd complain that that is completely illogical, but then again we do have a feminine elf who only understands dead people, armor that routinely shoots out confetti, a big guy who likes to go and fight cows for fun(i was really hoping that he would try to lick his new pick when he got it, because licking random things seems to be Arg's hobby), robot snakes that like eating rubies, and some bartender what thinks he can be helpful in a fight wielding only a frying pan and some kitchen knives. I think that's enough to justify a bunch of spiders falling down. Yeah. Riiight.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Just sort of go with whatever you think your character would say. Granted, said character doesn't really seem like the type to say much, but you'll find a groove somewhere. I can certainly attest to the fact that it isn't easy, but it won't take long.

Throwing the sludge might not be a good idea on account of the baddies' likely resistance to necrotic damage (which necrotic sludge would no doubt do).

In case you forgot, knkwzrd, it's Mots who owes the reaper something for saving his life, not the other thing around. Satan doesn't owe you a favor, you owe him one.

Oh, and Pang, running isn't actually an option because you locked them in. Remember that?

EDIT: ok, i was wrong. i hadn't checked the map in quite a while. They can run. But what could await them in the next room?

Someone should update the story Wiki - it's still stuck at preparations for the bar battle.

I could attempt to DM up until the end of June (i'm not sure when the meet is, haven't been keeping up with it). Unfortunately I don't have any physical materials so I've only got what Pang gives me.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I haven't been online much in a couple of weeks, and it's far too early in the morning to notice silly things like postdates.

Is it still worth calling the new group the "Horde"? After all, the necromancer nutcase and all of his cronies have left the building, and this new group seems less into just attacking everything it sees. Perhaps it's time to put the old name to rest before these different nutcases defile it with things like diplomacy. And communication.

I think I can answer #2.

From what you've stated, your normal attack would usually be better than Hunter's teamwork - however, combat advantage gives +2 to hit, so it would be more accurate if you have 2 allies next to the baddie. It's pretty much a choice between an additional 5% hit chance or an extra 1d6 damage on the off chance you roll a 20. That or the poison might work either way, i'm not sure.

I think. Pang will correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, i doubt you'd have to load twice to use those abilities, but then I didn't realize you had to load at all, I'm pretty sure Bob just shot whenever he felt like it.

20 squares is about as far as you can shoot and still be decently accurate. You can shoot up to 40 if you want, but your accuracy will take a major hit because of it. Generally a last ditch sort of thing, although it might come into play if Pang starts shooting at you guys from far enough away.

There are melee attacks that use dexterity. next time you level up you can probably learn one, seeing as you're a ranger.

EDIT: also, Zerg, 1+2+7 is 10, not 9.

And time for the random guy who feels silly that he knows the answers to these questions.

Yes, opportunity attacks happen any time a character (you, for example) leaves a space adjacent to an enemy, even if you're moving into another space adjacent to the enemy. "Shift" moves, like the one Helga took, negates opportunity attacks. You too, can shift instead of taking a normal move - i think you can only go one space, though, maybe two. Ranged weapons don't make opportunity attacks, but if you happen to be using your sword at the time then you will get one.

Always keep in mind that the enemies can do all of this too so be ready for it.

You can take only one opportunity attack per turn (one person) but any number beyond that. If ten different creatures managed to provoke opportunity attacks from you on each of their separate turns, you could attack all of them.

I don't know if she shifted, her attack might let her shift, like the one I had as Ewan, or something might have slipped through the cracks. It's Pang's story, he can pretty much make whatever he wants happen.

That said, He's got you on the area attack thing, Pang. Gheth and Gordok should both get OAs.

I do owe Gheth an AoO from Helga's move (but not Gordok, since he's dazed when it happens).
You're going to need to read even closer, unfortunately - AoOs are interrupt abilities, and happen before the attack or movement they respond to.

player's handbook:

"✦ Interrupts Target’s Action: An opportunity action
takes place before the target finishes its action.
After the opportunity attack, the creature resumes
its action. If the target is reduced to 0 hit points or
fewer by the opportunity attack, it can’t finish its
action because it’s dead or dying."

There's nowhere I can't reach.

butbutbut Gordy gets an AoO from her use of the area attack before she even moves, and it happens before her attack actually lands, so he's not dazed when he gets his attack.

There's probably enough of us who have a general idea of how the rules work for it to be feasible. I also don't mind looking things up for people if they have a question. And if we're not sure about a house rule, someone can just ask Pang about it as generally and unhelpfully as they can. Or we can just ask him about random unrelated rules to keep him guessing.

A thread here would probably work better than a google Wave. it's simpler and doesn't require any new players to go about signing up for things they don't want or need. I could set it up, but I'm not sure how the whole threadban thing works, so if i have time to fiddle around tonight i might try it.

I've not really been around much lately, so i'm a little late to this conversation, but i can change my character to be a tank or something if Garr goes down and Zeph chooses something else. It's not like my decision from over a year ago is set in stone.

I don't think so... it looked like you just sent an entire copy of the CB that had been patched, and i didn't feel like just replacing my CB with yours. I imagine if one replaced all of one's own files with yours, it might work, but whatever, it's not that critical as far as i can tell.

I don't think passive insight perception is something you roll, it's something that an enemy's stealth check would have to beat. Like armor, but for sneakiness.

EDIT: Also Pang, is it even possible for the G-Unit to call in the favor from the criminal syndicate? I didn't think anyone from that adventure was left, and i find it highly unlikely that said criminal syndicate is going to believe a bunch of random adventurers saying that the syndicate owed their predecessors, most of whom have disappeared to the mists of time, a favor and they've come to collect.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
