To mute silence? That might prove to be easier than you would expect.

I've examined the track, I tried my best at removing some of the noise, but to no avail. Know one thing though, it is impossible to remove the vocals if they're already imbued in the track. Same thing with sound effects. Unless they're nearing silence and you can capture a noise profile, you won't be able to do much, possibly worsen the quality of the entire track and lose sound. Tough luck, but that's the way it goes.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
