I stumbled across Ys III for SNES sometime last year, and realized that the sidescrolling action RPG was a flavor that i hadn't had enough of (only similar game off the top of my head would be Faxanadu). It felt quite different, and the music wasn't half bad either. i emulated a couple of the other installments, and they seem to be rather amusing as well.
if it's not much to ask, would someone mind explaining the different types of falcom games outside of Ys? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
oh yeah, LotW (NES). i played that when i was a kid. that game was pretty genius. there were 6 different characters or so, and a giant dungeon to navigate. due to the abilities of the characters, there were some constraints on where they could/couldn't go, so each of them had an area of the dungeon that needed to be scavenged by themselves specifically. i really dont know what i would compare it to... goonies II (NES) is as close as i can get at the moment...
it's definitely worth a shot if you're into 8-bit. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
