I'm kind of curious what makes you think tar.gz is "high" compression, since in all my experience with the archive (`tar -czf` and friends), the compression has been almost identical to what a ZIP provides, with RAR being far ahead of that.
Though, that may just be me, and I can't find any benchmarks to back up or demolish that claim. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
