I just built a system like this, actually... Athlon 64 3800+ (S939), same mobo, and an eVGA GeForce 7600GS.
Beyond optical drives, are you using anything else on EIDE, or is it SATA? The system I built uses EIDE exclusively (1 optical, 1 hdd), and boots plenty fast on the stock BIOS; ordered about a month ago, so I don't think it'd have changed. Where did you order it from? Maybe you got a bad board? Jam it back in, in the dark. |
