I used to play this extensively, having imported the original Japanese release on Dreamcast and being pleasantly surprised to play an import game in full English. Was even more pleasantly surprised to see US servers up alongside the Japanese servers when the game launched, which probably meant they had originally intended on having a simultaneous release. The Japanese version of the game was pretty buggy though (if you had a crash, ALL your item data was wiped, not just non-equipped items... yes, this included your banked items and meseta), and I wasted no time picking up the US release.
Then sometime later, PSO Version 2 came out, and I captured several screenshots and the like back when I was still working at RPGFan... was nice having exclusive content for the site back then. Played that extensively.
Long story short, I've played every version of PSO ever released, and quite frankly... I'm all PSO'd out. Have been for the longest time. I've seen and done just about everything there was to do in the game, and the atmosphere that the game's playerbase once had is all but non-existant these days. People bickering over "teams" on PSO Blue Burst is hilariously retarded.
So, I'm on standby, waiting for PSU to ship. Have my copy on next-day-air USPS and already pre-ordered.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
