Yoko Kanno is essentially a free pass to a top placing =/
Maybe, but I'd have no problem with someone nominating something from one of her more obscure titles. Napple Tale has gotten lots of representation here like Dhsu said. The Uncharted Waters II Special Edition album would be a no-go now as well, I think.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Latest music rips (updated January 10, 2012):

SimCity DS - Jazz/ambient/electronic music including interesting reworkings of songs from the fantastic SimCity 3000 soundtrack
Cold Winter Original Game Music Score - Really cool; dark, full, emotional strings mixed with drums, piano, choir. Kind of like Furious Angels?

Play-Asia - Japanese CDs, game soundtracks, game imports, & more

In theory, so are several other composers/groups: Sakimoto, Hulsbeck, "Yack", Kukeiha Club - they all have excellent performance records in SotW as well. Despite their obvious consistency, however, I just can't bring myself to even considering a ban on any particular composer. Not that it was suggested here, but the insinuations could've been interpreted in that direction.

I think SotW has merely reinforced the fact that these people are prolific composers and perhaps they deserve repeated honors for being so excellent.
Yeah, I feel the same way. If people want to nominate more obscure works by them, go ahead. Considering the quality of their work, bringing to light lesser known stuff by them could only be a good thing.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

No idea what the response to this is gonna be (I'm guessing it will just get some single point nods), and it's pretty short for a SotW nom of mine, but oh well. It's unique, and I enjoy it.

Album: Chibi-Robo (Game Rip)
Artist: Taniguchi Hirofumi
Song Title: Happy Birthday
File Location: My hard drive
Notes: I'm not sure what I want to call this -- either Happy Birthday or Jenny's Birthday. The filename in the rip I have just says "party," which isn't a very appealing title. The soundtrack that was released with the game's guide has a song called Happy Birthday, and I'm pretty sure that's this song. Back when I had started a rip, I called this track Jenny's Birthday (this isn't from my aborted rip, though, this is from someone else's complete rip).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Grabbed that track off the OST: http://sotw.info/music/nominations/0...20Birthday.mp3. How's that sound?
That's good; thanks. Got a link to the OST?

Seriously; that is bizarre.

EDIT: Points!

Board #4 - 3 pts.
Iris - 1 pt.
Kotae - 1 pt.
Stage 1 - 1 pt.

Kotae is a nice song; I like it music-wise. I don't care for the singing, though. How old is the singer? I'm serious, I'm not just trying to poke fun.

Also, I'd say Panzer Dragoon Saga / Azel should be added to the ineligible list now. It's had a good amount of representation (if not here, then in the BSC), and I would think its soundtrack is fairly well known about anyway.

EDIT^2: Based on what Dhsu said, I must be thinking of a different Panzer Dragoon game. I seem to recall "The Approaching Enemy" as one of the BSC tracks from a PD game (?).

I was speaking idiomatically.

You're right; I didn't realize they were all from different Panzer Dragoon games. Here's what I have for the last three BSCs:

Panzer Dragoon: Flight (twice)
Panzer Dragoon Saga: Sona mi areru ec sancitu
Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: The Expected Enemy
Panzer Dragoon Orta: Gigantic Fleet (twice)

So, nevermind.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
