O. O sir. I'm so sorry. You are in for a colossal let down.

Dark Cloud to Dark Cloud II is one of the single greatest improvements from one game to another. DC II is fantastic. The first one is easily one of the worst games I've ever played.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

The game they had for the sega saturn that I wanted really badly but they only had the game itself not the case and the manual and for a collector like me thats just unacceptable. The game is Dragon Force for $40. I remember Denicalis saying that it was such a great and under-appreciated RPG for the Sega Saturn. He'll probably end up killing me for not getting it at such a good price.
I'm going to come to your house, rape your weeaboo wife to death with a faux-katana (which is no doubt in your house somewhere), and then I'm going to duct tape you to a chair, put on stuck in the middle with you and cut on you with a knife until you learn your fucking lesson. Alternatively, if I'm feeling magnanamous, I may just hook electrodes up to your nutsack and shock you in time to Wein's Theme.

Walk the fuck back there and buy it. Possibly one of the three greatest games of all time.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Oh speaking of Sega CD, I just bought Dark Wizard. Interesting little game...the quality of the soundtrack is hilariously disproportionate to the quality of the graphics.
Dark Wizard is probably my second favourite Sega CD game (after Shining Force III), and it's a spiritual predecessor to Dragon Force, making it even greater.

I had a copy for years, but recently lost it to the dreaded little cousin monster. Pissed me off to no end. Time to ebay it again.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Well, last thing I bought was FVII Crisis Core for the PSP, I think. I've liked FVII a lot, so I thought 'Why not?', and I just bought it. Take that
And yes, I liked it, I'm now in my second playthrough Graphics are good, story is not too short, only the I believe 100+ extra missions get a tad repetitive after some time.

The only really weird thing about the game is that at some point, there is a guy who tries to eat your hair in order to stay alive
I guess Square-Enix was sniffing coke at that time.
Um. Please explain what aspect of a cocaine high would make you do that.

No, no. It's fine. I'll wait.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Stupid question: Does this apply to Final Fantasy Tactics as well? I remember the game went out of print for about a year - and then the first batch of Greatest Hits discs didn't work in most PSX or PS2 systems and were recalled or something.
I'd never heard the GH games had a hard time working in systems. But I -do- know you can find this game in a bunch of stores still. The black label ones go pricey online, but the GH copies can be cheap cheap due to common.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

The past week I've picked up Tales of Symphonia 2, Eternal Poison and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Sucks to be in Canada with the recession the exchange rates when ordering online blow hard and the price on games has gone up by 5 bucks on nearly everything.
Uh. All of those games are available on amazon.ca.

Picked up Punch Out and pre-ordered X-Edge.

A friend bought me Sacred 2 for the PC and haven't had a chance to get to that yet (but then again that wouldn't really count as a purchase on my end would it.) was wondering if I should get the PS3 version, especially since I hate that DMR (or DRM or whatever) bullshit about only being able to have it installed on 2 PCs at any given time.

Why on EARTH would you pre-order Cross Edge? It's Idea Factory.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

There was a demo out on the moonspeak PSN, you should grab that and appropriately cancel your pre-order.

Seriously. It's not good.

Played the demo for Uncharted 2 the other day, and decided to pick up the first one as a result. I'd never played it before, but enjoy that style of game, so... yeah. Hopefully I'll pick up Uncharted 2 when it comes out next week.

Also grabbed Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, cause I'm a sucker for those types of platformers.
By THOSE KIND I assume you mean "awesome."

Of course you can't register the game, or get any of the free in-game bonuses because Bioware's site is fucking terrible, but... yay?

How ya doing, buddy?

Anyone had any problems trying to install the PC version? Mine says the setup.exe file is broken and that reinstalling should correct the problem. :/
Check the social site at Dragon Age Origins - Home. Every platform is having major issues.

Got dragon age PC for 10$can, at least working for EA has some advantages.
Too bad it doesn't work properly. Disadvantage to working for EA: Everyone now thinks you're shit at your job.

I picked up the collector's edition of Dragon Age: Origins for the PC.
Christ man, expound a little. You turn it into a list and we'll slit your throat. Or at least let Skills fuck with your profile. Something.

Personally, I was surprised by how much I've been enjoying Dragon Age. I really thought I'd be underwhelmed by it, given how lackluster I found Mass Effect (Choose your own adventure boring etc). But DA really does have that Baldur's Gate feel, and the world they created is quite strong. I stand as an advocate of it (so far. Four hours in.)

I also recommend you give that flash game they made a try. Interesting story plus rewards in game.

That new red case for New Super Mario Bros. Wii looks BALLIN on my game shelf.

Also grabbed [ie: downloaded] Dragon Age for PC just to see if it would run, and to give it a quick test play. Looks awesome so far.
Seriously people. There's a shortage of quality games in the fucking industry. Try supporting them when they crop up.

Oh, I fully intend on picking it up next payday. I just wanted to give it a quick test run before spending $70 on it. That, and I wanted to make sure my PC could actually RUN it. At this point, I'd rather play that type of game on PC than on a console.

Speaking of which, how IS the console version, control-wise?
Can You Run It

Plenty of places to check if it runs.

As for console controls, the PC wins hands down. Definitely. The PS3 and the PC seem to be more or less on par in terms of graphics, but the Circle Box is a real step down from both. I've played it on PC and console, and although I miss the PC controls, I wouldn't recommend anyone away from the console versions. They're still smooth and very usable. Just not quite as slick as its PC counterpart.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Got Dragon Age Origins.

Why is this game so acclaimed? I don't get it.
If you have it on console, I have no idea.

If you have it on PC, because it's great.

Glad to help.

Except that Mass Effect was a steaming pile, where as Dragon Age is actually interesting. Other than that, sure.

Total opposite for me. Theres nothing to chew on in DA:O; hell, your character doesn't even talk during discussions.
For me, your character is the least interesting point in the game. If Brady were here, he'd talk about blandness and immersion into a character but I'll let him play with that. The thing that got me was the secondary characters. Mass Effect was painfully bad in regards of the people running alongside you. Their opinions changed based on absolutely nothing but needing a pro and con side to the conversations you had, there was no lore to the world and the story unfolded terribly. In DA you had characters motivated by their own reasons, that were static and didn't shift without reason. The voice acting was good (god. male shepard. so bad.) and the lore behind the world was incredibly in depth.

I'm not saying Pang's wrong about Bioware making the same type of game, they clearly do, I'm saying he's wrong when he says this team is just a carbon copy of those that came before. DA is hardly a Mass Effect clone beyond the combat system. You have to look at it the way you look at FFT. 90% of the game is contained in the updating lore in the party menu. If all you want is a fighting runthrough, fine, but you'll miss half the fun. Clearly won't be for everyone, but to say it's exactly the same as its predecessors just isn't fair.

I was speaking idiomatically.

If you were going to get a CE guide, FF XIII would be the one to grab. That and Bayonetta are the only ones I've seen lately really worth the extra coin.
