But then, I also HATED The English Patient. I'll never understand the appeal of some of these movies.

Admittedly, it's been a long while since I've seen it, but all I remember was a bunch of poor Brazilian kids running wild through some Rio slum, selling drugs and generally being jackasses.

It really didn't appeal to me at all - I just saw a washed up point.

What did you find appealing about it? I would appreciate it if you could tell me so maybe I can appreciate something MORE in the film. =/
