I agree completely, I'm not a big fan of the series (watched it when I was a little kid, but never religiously), but I thought the movie was a blast. I just can't understand a lot of the hate; the movie is about a kid named SPEED RACER that has a fucking fast car with superpowers, and girlfriend that flys a heli everywhere and his kid brother and monkey, who live in his trunk.

What did you seriously expect? As far as a good summer popcorn flick goes, this was as good as it gets for me. I enjoyed Iron Man, but not like I did Speed Racer.
