Fighting Game Matchmaking Thread - "EM EM AY, EM EM AY"
Given the imminent release of Street Fighter IV and boost in interest with Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, I figure it'll be worth another shot at finding some competition within GFF's limited fighting game playing populous. If you aren't already familiar with GGPO or 2DF, then here's the gist of it:
GGPO and 2DF are two versions of lagless netcode for playing fighting games with anyone in the world. Barring a beyond terrible connection, you can actually get your ass kicked by folks from Japan in a playable fashion, if your heart so desires, via these two programs. You can find everything you need to know in order to get started at their respective homepages: GGPO.net - Home - Lag Free, Online Arcade Gaming Goodness 2DF FreePlay The difference between GGPO and 2DF is quality of netcode, variety, stats, and replays. GGPO offers significantly better netcode than 2DF, but 2DF offers a wider variety of games from SNK and Capcom. Including 2-Player Co-op titles if that tickles your fancy. 2DF is currently the only program/netcode to offer stats and replays, so you can go back and watch previous matches for improvement/gloating. GGPO's Dojo is down indefinitely, but if you're looking to skip stats and replays, your play experience will generally be better on GGPO unless you're playing Street Fighter 3: Third Strike or a game that GGPO doesn't support (in which case, it's impossible have any sort of experience when the game isn't supported). So what if you already have GGPO or 2DF? Well, that's where this thread comes in. Establishing who plays as well as when they play will be good, for starters. Afterward, you can issue a time where you're available to play and folks who look here will, hopefully, meet you online for a few friendly games. Please post your GGPO and 2DF user names and let's get this rolling. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- GFF Username - GGPO Username - 2DF Username Rotorblade - Corrosion - Corrosion Manny Biggs - Manny Biggs - Manny Biggs Pangalin - Saxypunch Shenlon - Shenlon Tokubetsu - Tokubetsu - Tokubetsu Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

I refuse to play Manny in any other KoF than 98, and by now I bet that asshole has learned all the nice moves that make me despise him. Opening is updated. If you're going to jump on 2DF or GGPO, feel free to throw a post in this thread giving an estimated time you'll be on and such.
I'll always have Super Turbo, Manny. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Kaillera netplay offers a few more games, but that shit is negligible given how much of a hassle it would be to coordinate and play with an already ambivalent potential user base.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I mostly play Super Turbo (Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo), though I'll play 3S, Samurai Showdown 2, and KoF 98 if I get the opportunity. I'm assuming your 2DF account is "Tokubetsu?"
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
I'm on 2DF right now. I'm looking to play a few games of Samurai Showdown 2 preferably, but I'm up for anything.
Edit: waiting on GGPO instead, too much flak in 2DF at the moment I was speaking idiomatically. ![]()
