Do you happen to have any examples of songs that meet your definition of non-generic techno? (Or regular amateur techno for that matter...most of these don't resemble any form of techno I'm familiar with.)

If you don't like it, that's fine...no need to be a smart aleck about it though.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well...are you?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Your comments weren't exactly what most would consider constructive either. You could've provided suggestions instead of just bashing people, and told us why those tracks are don't qualify as good rap.

Oh, so when other people insult you, it's "flaming," but when you insult other people, it's an "opinion"?

I was speaking idiomatically.

You attacked both the person who arranged the songs and the person in charge of quality control. Those are insults.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I'm fine with people not liking it, but you said more than that. My point, and the reason I brought this whole thing up, is that even though you might not have directly insulted them, your comments were uncalled for and totally unnecessary with respect to conveying your honest opinion about the tracks. What sort of reaction were you expecting after writing something like that? I'm not saying Liontamer's flaming was justified, but it was certainly understandable.

And I'll leave it at that, so we can get back to the reviews. Sorry about the derail.

FELIPE NO

Being negative is different from being mean. You can give criticism without being rude. All I was saying is that if you say mean things about people, don't be surprised if people say mean things back.

Reminds me of the SF3:3rd Strike soundtrack. Decent, if not slightly kooky in the lyrics department. :P

Guile and Zangief's theme are both just awful; calling it "trance" is not a free ticket to be lazy with a synthesizer.
I myself was a little dubious about the lead in Guile...it was like SF2:Kindergarten Edition or something.

And one overarching critique, that applies to the good tracks as well as the bad. With a compilation title like "Blood on the Asphalt", you'd expect that all the tracks would be songs you could cue up in place of the original soundtrack and beat someone's ass with. This is why people are rightly fingering Fei Long's theme as the standout track in this collection. Most of the tracks are too darn slow.
Actually, somebody did just that and I must say, it works quite well. (Torrent)
