The most expensive game I've come across that had a high value price was one of the few copies of the English translated Mother 1 (Earthbound Zero) that was floating around. I believe there were 4-5 copies made, but the game was simply never released at all outside of Japan so no more were made. One of the guys that did the ROM dump for it supposedly paid about $400 for the copy, and is the sole reason why we even have a ROM for it.

It'll be interesting to watch the prices though when Panzer Dragoon Saga and other games start showing up on XBLArcade or Wii's Virtual Console. Everyone will try and get top dollar at the last minute, and hilarity will ensue accordingly.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well, that was the story told to me really. I didn't even know there were fake carts on eBay at all, but thanks for letting me know about the real story then. Even though, to merely only borrow it for a couple hundred dollars is still something in and of itself.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
