Official Super Mario Galaxy Thread of Awesomeness

I was surprised when I was browsing for this topic and didn't find one. I'm so super hyped for this game already. Its looking like such an awesome awesome game of the year.

Let me remind you that this game is not released until the following release dates, so lets keep the spoiler tags effective when needed. Afterall... Mario is all about the experience of the video game itself.

Release Dates
Japan - November 1
North America - November 12
Europe - November 16
Australia - November 29

Purchases
You can purchase it on Amazon for $49.99 or head to your nearest game store. There's a collector's edition guide @ $29.99 for this game if anyone's a consumer whore for them.

Added the mention about the US purchase price as well as the guide. I'm not sure about prices in other areas though. I'd love to add this if possible.

Why is this thread 'official'.
Just to be safe. I'm sure it was mentioned in Official Wii threads and elsewhere but not completely positive if there was. Even though I did a thorough search for this, but I wasn't entirely sure if THIS was going to be made or not. Typically I don't make threads (my enforced policy actually) but I respect the golden rule of not making a duplicate thread.

And I guess this can be a thread for everything SMG that can apply. o.O'

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Funny shit ever today, Jimmy called Best Buy, a dumb clerk answered and said oh yeah we got copies, and told her to hold one for me when I got there. Of course when I got there, she came out and was like ooh I'm so so sorry, I meant to call him back and let him know we cannot release these til TOMORROW (she used emaphsis here). I just started to grin at how dumb she is. Of course we're trying to get dumb clerks to release one.

Ah well, I planned on calling in just to play this gem tomorrow.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Weird. I didn't get my commemorative coin. But yeah we reserved our copies early. I just told Jimmy that I forgot to ask GS clerk for one. But he wasn't passing them out to the others that were standing in line in front of me though, they all had reserve tickets.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Jimmy told me that he thought its possible that they didn't just simply get the shipment of the coins. I really dunno... those who were in line that afternoon (obviously GS told them that they'll get Mario that afternoon) didn't get one. I'd definitely noticed. Sigh... who knew buying games would just make me all materialistic for some little fucking trinket (I'm looking at the damn wright plushie).

On a positive note, I kinda found out (more like I didn't care) that there's a two player option. It'll be so awesome so I'm awaiting on Jimmy to come home from work to play. He's excited about this game too. Although this game is purely mine in purchase-wise, so I got dibs on playing this through and through.

How ya doing, buddy?

Saka, it sure does take some getting used to. The controls I mean, especially when you're on a small sphere walking around and you could flip the controls easily. But after playing for two days and a mild headache, I got the controls down.

I got like close to 40 stars now and loving every bit of it. I'm excited about finding hidden/green stars.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

LOL. SD said I had a "James Bond" moment at the final boss battle. I typically messed up a lot and that 3 health bar is more than plenty. It'd teach me more to keep my controls in control. But at the final boss battle, I already know what to do since I fought him in similar fashion before and therefore I had became a "James Bond" in fighting him.

And... I had no trouble getting this far, but I do hate the spooky race. :\ Damn meats.

And the trial ray race often end early for me and when I was doing so well, I finished it when I wasn't expecting it. Really now... 3 minutes? o.O' I finished on something like 1'18.

Saka, the key to that trial ray surfing is TAP. Just keep tapping A. Don't hold it down. You'll notice the second half of the course water path get narrower. So play it safe by tapping lightly. You'll have PLENTY of time to get to the finish line. After you go through the vertical loop, you're close to the finish line fyi.

I'm at 85 stars now. I think I know what SD's talking about... my James Bond moments were hilarious and awesome at the same time. Like in Trial bubble, I kept getting impatient and end up dying so much. But in the second half? LOL I made it there in one piece by Bond my way there like with the bullet RIGHT BEHIND me in touching the damn bubble! He'd get pissed off when I did this so easily.

And lollin at Acer. I wondered what the hell were they thinking in making Mario 64 cannons... SD STILL HAVE NOT PLAYED THIS GAME. FOR SHAME. His excuse? Golden Eye 64.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Speaking of soundtracks, I REALLY love the storybook one. Sooo awesome.

And HOLY FUCK, Luigi's Purple Coins level IS INSANE! HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU GET THE 6 HOVERING IN AIR?!

Even my husband's CE guide's AUTHOR said this is the hardest level and took him like 20 tries and only to realize that the power star is BACK at the beginning (like usual). :\ Great, I already had had hellva a time with Mario level.

Edit: Ahh... apparently there's 150 coins. Not necessary to get them ALL, you just need 100 for the star. But damn the time limit. :\

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I just did the Deadnought's purple coin stage and the secret star's bomb stage. Both of them took me like 10 tries in total. I was rather surprised and glad I got those out of the way. I still haven't gotten through Luigi's Purple Coins or Ghostly Purple Coins stage either. :\ How the fuck do you get the latter within the time alloted?

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I'm now... on my... GREEN play through with about 28 stars. I played a good bit with him and I thought he'd be more superpowered as MUCH. Apparently not... if anything its a bit of a little hindrance when some levels are built with Mario jumping mechanics in mind.

So I plowed through to see if I can find a level that makes it hard to have him playing as. So far I haven't except the cosmic comet level, and I noticed you can get him... cosmic? Or something? Its crazy.

I was speaking idiomatically.
