Even if they're just teaser commercials for now, the key thing is they need to be getting their image out right now, before everyone hears about the PS3 controller and gets conned into thinking Nintendo stole something from Sony. If that happens, Nintendo's chances will be seriously hurt.
This is what really pisses me off. Nintendo has to quickly get this fact out to the people....the fact that this controller was their idea. I really do hate Sony right now for doing this, just leeching off of everybody else in the damn business. While I'm not exactly an Xbox fan, I do see the resemblence of the PS3 online capability to the XBox's and I do see Sony basically ripping off the idea and "making it better" with a lower cost. Seriously, what the hell? Then it follows suit with a half-assed tilt sensor? What are they thinking? The people who buy Sony's PS3 are not going to be interested in tilt sensors and furthermore, any developer who's going to implement tilt sensor in their game will just go to Nintendo because of a better system of motion sensoring and a cheaper dev kit.

On the other hand, Nintendo's target audience could care less for the Playstation 3 and whatever it offers. Nintendo's true audience would not care if PS3 did all this shit since it's set WAY out of any casual gamer/non-gamer's price range. Seriously, now that Sony's using "Tilt sensors" on their controllers, it's even harder to justify the $499/$599. PS3 may as well equal a Wii with better graphics and a shittier version of the Wii's motion sensor, and from what I see, the $300 is a longways away from being justified for simply better graphics that nobody is going to notice unless they're staring at point blank from the TV screen.

I dunno, I just don't know what to think anymore. I will personally be picking up a Wii at launch, but I doubt I'll ever pick up a PS3....not unless it drops below $300.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Also all their other consoles were 199 on launch date as well - why should they interrupt this "chain" with the console that is meant to be bought by new and non-gaming costumers? I´d be surprised if it´ll cost more than 199 €/USD.
I hope that the price is at $199US as well, but if you don't know yet, I don't think a single console gets a profit from the system itself, but from the games most of the time. Consoles need to sell for much lower prices to have people buy them. After that initial loss, they make it all back in their games.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Hell, Gamecube's graphics are good enough already, I really don't give a damn if they went better (though I'd like it). No Rechargable batteries? Damn. It's like a shot in the foot there. Hmm...It'll probably last a while anyways....like how long a single AA battery lasts in my notebook optical mouse. It's been going for like 4 months now.

EDIT: Why is this thread so inactive now?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Ditto. Though I can't imagine any Wii game using any VoIP. We're not talking about Socom here. (At least not with the Wiimote)

The DS/Wii Connectivity has a lot of potential. There are just so many possibilities that I can't even begin to think. Pokemon Battle Revolution looks fantastic. and all this is coming at a cost of < $250. Life is good.

Oh my god. This better not be some cruel joke.

If this is true, then Nintendo has pulled off a definite win. Original style controls to go with the original games. This is pure heaven. This would take the cake. That's an NES, SNES, N64, Genesis controller. I'm not sure what the other one is though. But regardless, this would just own everything else PS3 or 360 try to pull.

Nintendo Owns Life.

I was speaking idiomatically.

I just hope if they do this, they keep it accurate and release the SNES controller over here in Europe in the correct (Japanese) colors and not the US style.

EDIT:

Meh....it wouldn't bother me if I had either, since the colors really don't register anything different for me. As opposed to the US SNES controller (What I had)....

Though it does look somewhat more homosexual.....but let's not go into that....

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Just a guess....but possibly, they could bundle the all-in-one controller with the Wii system, and then sell the others separately. At the same time, people could trade in older SNES/N64/Genesis or whatever controllers to get one that's compatible with the Wii for free. A stretch, yes, but a possibility maybe?

Alternatively, they could bundle cables so that you can use your old ones to hook up to the Wiimote. Be much easier rather than remake an old controller. I dunno, it's just wild speculation now.

It may be an SD card, but I just like the idea of being able to play GB/GBC/GBA/DS games on the Wii, as to not make those games obsolete (at least the GB/GBC titles)

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

So the price of the virtual console games themselves....I heard it's between $4.00 and $9.00? Is this true? Because that's not bad at all.

Lol, talk about overhype, but it's still good, SD cards really are cheap. And they're much more universal. And compatible with your computer. Lol, I see some people hacking into their saves. or at least FAQs on how to hack your saves.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
