Uhh I guess it depends. If I see some guy beating up his wife in the subway, I'd probably protest and kick him in the face. Same if some kids try to burn "the edge of the subway wall" or if those assholes smoke at the train station (though I would probably only protest and not kick them in the face). It's not really a question of taking the law into your own hands rather than a question of moral courage in my opinion.
