FFVI was the last soundtrack of his that I'm able to listen to all the way through. Everything after has filler that I tend to skip.

What he said. I have been replaying FF7 and while I think parts of it are great (lousy synth excepting), there's still a lot of filler in there. It's stuff that worked fine in the game but on disc, it just drags. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
He produced a lousy pop song in FFXII. That's hardly enough to judge his later works.
