Hahaha, this is hilarious. I can't believe they are actually doing this as a punishment. Like some people said above, I'd LOVE a hello kitty armband as punishment. Sanrio stuff here is priced exorbitantly, and I'd be tardy twenty times over in order to get me some armbandage.

inhumane. LOL I hardly think that this will be the presiding opinion over at the precinct, but it just might work to promote better behavior.
I mean honestly, how many people become police officers to gain 'instant' respect? Can you really respect a policeman with a hello kitty armband? Its certainly a strong incentive to not be a jackass police officer. However, the armband is a shtick which probably won't stick. It becomes problematic because it will probably cause citizens not to take the police force seriously, which is never good. This isn't a very respectful premise nor very serious. It seems more like a frat gag than something that should be instituted by an official police source.
To me, hello kitty armband's as punishment, is about as practical as playing Classical music at bus stops to keep violent crime down.
