Age of Mythology Original Soundtrack - Hoping for Real Betterness I've never been the biggest fan of Age of Blank, but this tune has a nice sound. It's a little sparse in places, but generally pleasant (and the vibraphone is terrific). Axelay - Mother (3st BGM) Definite SNES-era vibe here, but it doesn't quite live up to the lofty standards of that generation. As a rather disposable piece of jazziness it's good, but there are still some pretty big dry spots and the melodic parts are undermixed when compared to the oppressive drums. Bike Banditz Original Sound Track - eXceptional eXploration (Stage 1) Replacing S's with Z's and capitalizing X's is definitely eXtreme to the maxx in a 1997 sort of way. My expectations were pretty low because of that, but I was pleasantly surprised; it's got its rough edges, but the jazzy synth on display here is quite fetching. Eternity's Child - The Official Soundtrack - Crystal Waterfalls I love the airy, light sound of this piece. It's got a very delicate texture and melody, with a little bombast and kookiness thrown in for good measure, but the slight melancholy is what really sells me on it. Sonic the Hedgehog Remix - Dr.'Gigglymen' The electronically enhanced scat singing in this piece is interesting, and it definitely has funky attitude to spare. But I can't see myself listening to it again anytime soon; it's the sort of thing that functions best in small doses. Super R-Type (Game Rip) - As Wet as a Fish Very flat and kind of dull overall. Part of that's the weak synth, and part's the sparse composition. The piano melody was good when it showed up, which unfortunately wasn't often enough. Tobi Tsukihime Soundtrack - MAGICAL AMBER The rising and falling synth figure reminded me of a certain famous VGM composition, and the rest of the track benefits from a solid melody and energetic performance. Quite good! Zeliard (PC Game Rip) - Tumba Town Another rather flat track, with a lot of the same problems as R-Type. That repeating background figure in particular drove me to distraction. A good week overall, though a couple of outright duds do lower the overall level of quality from last week and the week before. The Point Spread Crystal Waterfalls - 3 pts. Magical Amber - 2 pts. Exceptional Exploration - 1 pt. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Also, lol at the spread. Any week where I get within 2 pts. of tied for placing is a good week. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
