Phew, after all that catching up with reading and all, all I can say is

Trailer- WTFWOW!
Price and Date- ??? (Still confused, but I mostly get it)
Games- MUST Fn PLAY NOW
VC- Cool... But ne
Other features- WTFWHOA?!

All they gotta do is confirm when it's coming over here (Aussieland) and then I'll be sold. $250 US? Still pretty good for me considering I'm one week away from having saved that much (around $399 AUS). W00t!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

WHERE DA HEWL J00z GET DAT???? Sex all the way.

The Wii channel idea is genius. Bring in the uncharted market, Nintendo. Lifestyle and gaming. Excellent business strategy. For some reason it's looking like Nintendo could have the upper hand in online (see "when pigs fly" thread in General Gaming).

Did IGN say, "home-brew movies"?

Like, as in, can you play media (apart from photos) by putting on SD cards and sticking it in your Wii (oh behave!)?

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Oh, hacker central. This service is bound to be abused... (not that I would...)

Now all I need is news on the Aussie Wii. Release date (probably around Japan's or later), price (approx $350) and Wii Sports Included. Please.

How ya doing, buddy?

Precisely what I was getting at. DL movies, anime then view them on Wii. Possible?

Is there any impressions on "typing" on the Wii? If I were to use the Opera browser and would want to email and long email, will be it "patiently" possible?

How ya doing, buddy?

Mario Galaxy's looking pretty sweet. The fear I had of not being able to travel on LARGE planets were diminshed in the video and the link to the screenshots Infernal posted.

Wii Wins. Perfect.

Yes! I hope Toys R Us don't try and pass the packed in WiiSports as the free game now though!
SCREW YOU HIPPIE (clicky, clicky, "save as"...)

Project Hammer seems like a typical action game... unless Nintendo convinces me otherwise.

Zelda screens on IGN? Good night everybody.

In the Wii game trailer (the one with every damn Wii game) there was a guy drumming. Wii Drums, perhaps?

I'm not gonna touch on the component/composite argument even with a 20-foot pole. Whatever I get I'll use.

As with the price, I suppose it is our fault for letting ourselves believe that it was going to be les than US$250. As for the Wii controllers, the reason why they may be expansive may be because of the technologies incorporated into them. Gyroscopic technology isn't exactly everywhere now... is it?

No news about a microphone on the controller?

It was either Gamespot, IGN or in these threads that I read this from somewhere...

But I agree with the argument that Wii Orchestra/Music should go beyond just swinging the Wiimote, like for example being able to point at specific sections of the orchestra.

I suppose not including this is just so that the whole family can play, but it would help increase the appeal a bit.

ARGH CONTROLLERS! WHY MUST YOU COST SO MUCH??!

Ooo looks like we won't be missing out on Wiis should we not pre-order them!

And it looks like Nintendo is getting presence Down Under, where it's been so horrendously shunned by the media during the Cube era. A news spot, a few articles and now part of the Top 10 Aussie Xmas gifts!

Now to get enough money for the Wii.........

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Please help the n00b here understand how Linux would enhance the Wii experience. I've never in my whole life touched the Linux OS but I've heard that it is WAY better than Windows.

Well, even without knowing the benefits I still feel that it is a huge boost for Wii's potential.

Ahh... so it is 70 + 30 for the wii controllers in Australia. Gay.

Oh well.

To add insult to the (small) injury, it did turn out that the Toys R Us deal was dodgy. The "free" game they're gonna give out is the "SO AWESOME" Open Season.

Oops. Sorry Grubby!

In other news, there's more chances to play Wii all over Australia ala Nintendo Fusion Tours of America. Finally, Australia is being taken seriously by Nintendo. Either that, or NoAUS are actually lifting their asses up for once. I'll be a-going!

$100 for nunchuk + wiimote still hurts...

Argh! It's only a month now till the Wii comes out over here... But I don't have the money yet!!!

Of course there's the Virtual Console and all but should I consider selling my good buddy, SNES and Cube? Apart from Nostalgic value, they're pretty much useless if the Virtual Console is going to fill their places. But then again how much would you get from them anyway?

I'm psyched. Unfortunately for me with the exams and all I can't try the Wii out, which was going to be at the station I get off to go to uni. Darn!

Well the response of Zelda's controls have been a bit of a mixed bag, really. However, I'm still convinced that Zelda Wii is the purchase for me.

How much would the SNES sell for these days? Or even a Cube? I'm not too worried about selling games which may not have the chance in making it to the VC. I just need cash for my Wii!

Well it's official guys (well, at least in my opinion). Wii ROXXXORZZZZ!!!

I went to the Wii displays at a prominent shopping central (Melbourne Central) coming back from the exams and LOOKY LOOKY!

The graphics of Wii games aren't as bad as they have been claimed to be. Of course, they ain't X360 or PS3 but even still they look quite pretty. OR maybe it was because they used component cables (the picture quality was more refined). Excite Trucks looked pretty lush and it was even better when the boosts and the BIG DAMN JUMPS kicked in. Wii Sports, though simple in terms of models, still looked attractive enough. Wii Play, though 2D, displayed some nice (though any system could do it) effects. AND ZELDA!!!!! It's way better in real life than the trailers. Plus it looks damn pretty.

How did they play? All of them had a slight learning curve but after that it was all natural. Like, as in, no exaggerated "swingin' Mcgraw" type stuff. Wii Tennis was cool, with little touches such as the speaker going "thwack!" and force feedback. Wii-Play was just frantic, multiplayer fun. Excite Truck was, to my surprise (but not others), quite exciting. The steering was a bit awkward but I got adjusted after about 5 minutes and played for about 30 seconds after until I was shooed off by the Nintendo representative.

Zelda was (sorry GCN buyers) natural. My only gripe with it was that the build was the E3 build, therefore the control was different from the final one, but after mucking around with the controller a bit it seems that IGN, Gamespot and whatnot's impression on the controller is pretty accurate. It takes a while but after that it's hard to go back to the GCN controller.

BTW I just went to play Wind Waker just then and yep. The Wii controls seem to have pretty much convinced me.

Anyway, just throwing in the experience I had today with the Wii.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I went today (well, technically yesterday) but its gonna be on again Thursday. Not only that, there's an expo in about a week that'll have Wii etc. Australia is finally being taken seriously!

W00t!!! Red pocket from my uncle overseas! $100AU GET! (probably for Red Steel or Excite Trucks)

When I was at Melbourne Central the other day, one of my reactions when I saw the Wii and the Wii controller was HOLY SHIT! SO SMALL!! (As someone had posted previously).

Seriously, Nintendo say it's small but it doesn't hit you until you see it. I swear the wiimote makes me think of a little paddle pop!

Argh! I either use $100 for a controller combo, or $100 for Zelda... I should probably get Zelda since the good multiplayer games ain't out yet...

How ya doing, buddy?

Speaking of SD cards, will almost all brands of cards work (as well as all memory sizes)? I think I might get a Sandisk 2GB, but that's only because it seems "safe" to get it. My friend brought an 4GB SD for his laptop which had a card reader, only to find out it didn't read.

OMG I just realised you lucky Americans get the Wii this Friday. Goddamnit!

Well I'm hoping the Wii might be able to fix the frame rate issues of games such as Star Fox Adventures and whatnot (Tony Hawk 3 had pretty had frame-rate issues too). I wasn't able to appreciate those games properly.

I'm actually thanking god for the Aussie Wii launch date. I don't have enough for Wii!!!

Now what to sell?

And bloody good, freeloader works with the Wii. I guess I be trying to sell the ol' cube then.

DOUBLE POST: Well now that some of you guys have the Wii, how many saves can the Wii's internal memory hold? And has anyone tried SD cards on the Wii (how many saves can you save on your SD card)?

Well now the Nintendo board is quite empty today.

SD Card Testing, anyone? How's the multiplayer on Wii? The photo channel? MP3 soundtrack option for Excite Trucks? More impressions, anyone? Hello? *echoes*

And all this talking about updating etc... Does the Wii have to be updated once you take it out of the box?
