I pre-ordered my copy yesterday. I'm gonna try to run through this game again on Hardcore difficulty in the next week so I can be primed when it hits shelves.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I had vaguely planned to try and co-op the original Gears with someone, though Skills (who said he was game) has been impressively lame on that front. What with the deluge of new games I don't think that's going to happen now.
If you still want to do that, I'm game to do it, you'll just have to catch me sometime after I get out of work at 7 pm GMT -8.

How ya doing, buddy?

How about a morning? I don't work every morning. In fact, I hired a girl to work at our office and I no longer even show up. I can ignore do this job from home. Just let me know when you're up for the task and I'll try to match skills to do this on co-op.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Yeah... I couldn't get a hold of Omagnus so I got one of my local boys to play with me on Insane at first but it turns out he sucks more than I do... Hence, we're only doing this on Hardcore.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Picked up the game today and proceeded to wail on campaign with a buddy today. 5 and a half hours later, I'm convinced that this is pretty much the game that's going to sell 360s this holiday season. I like how the game is actually starting to develop some kind of story construct as opposed to just a reason to go from point A to point B.

I haven't even played Horde but, from what I hear it's the most addictive portion of this game. If my eyes didn't hurt to much, I'd keep going tonight but, goddamn, my TV is awful with the brightness.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Horde is STUPID addicting and one of the most surprisingly fun modes in this game. It helps a lot, of course, if you gather a team of 4 or more people on Live to play on because once you get to round 20 or so it becomes quite challenging. When you have a barrage of walking tanks closing in on your position with your squad mates grinding their teeth over the headsets you KNOW you got something special going on in this mode.

I believe I will now have nightmares because of the tickers alone.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

This might be the buggiest game I've ever played on the 360. I don't know how many times Dom just stands there, doing nothing (specially not reviving me), or Jack getting frozen leaving me stuck because he's supposed to open a door.
So far the way I fix the Jack thing is to leave an area and come back to the door that Jack is supposed to open. As far as everything else, yeah, this game is MAD glitchy. Chainsaw kills that don't saw opponents in half, Reavers that fall and never explode, Wretches crawling on ceilings that aren't there and, of course, getting stuck between those thin membranes inside the huge worm because your chainsaw never deployed.

Additional Spam:
I keep reading about people complaining that Dom doesn't revive them, which confuses me. When I am playing campaign by myself and I die, I die. There is no waiting for Dom to revive me. It's just game over. What am I missing here?
I think that applies to the "Down But Not Out" thing when you can crawl to relative safety until a team mate revives you. I've heard of people saying that Dom just stands there while you exanguinate at his feet. On the other hand, I don't know why people would complain about that if you get hit with the Boomshot. What's Dom gonna do? Saw your meat pile back together on the fly?

FELIPE NO

No, I understand the situation. I'm just saying that when I am playing and I get killed, I just fall over and have to reload from the last checkpoint, whether I got dismembered or just got shot up a bunch with a lancer. The only time I get a chance to be revived is when I am doing co-op.
That's probably because you're playing it on Insane. On the lower difficulty levels you rarely get damaged to the point of death so easily.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

I know I'm probably late but I finally beat this game tonight. GodDAMNIT, this game glitches like a motherfucker. That is my single greatest complaint about this game. I have other complaints about this:

Spoiler:
Some characters that were incredibly well-designed and had the potential to be really great plot threads were killed in the first hour of gameplay. Like Tai. Tai is, by far, my favorite character I've seen in a game in a long time and he was mercilessly left to shoddy plot devices.

The game is pretty much what I expected it to be otherwise. It was brutal, intense and fun to play on career mode. The story was a massive change to it. We were no longer subjected to excuses to go from point A to point B; there was now a backbone to the characters and a visceral connection to the 2 main characters in the squad. I especially liked the choice to have a plot devoted to Dom alone.

Spoiler:
I get that Dom looking for his wife had the potential to be the flimsiest of plot devices but the fact that it wasn't YOUR character this was being forced upon, as opposed to a secondary character was a massive difference in the delivery. I still think that when he find Maria and she's basically a vegetable is a bitter moment in the game. It worked much better with the idea circling around Dom instead of Marcus. I still want to see how see how interpersonal relationships like Dom and Anya and Dom and his father work out, but this is a fucking good start.

All in all, yes, this game is flawed. BADLY. I still like it a lot and, provided they fix the fuckups in the future, this could turn to be a damn good art device. I give it an A-.

How ya doing, buddy?

I've heard this from a couple of people, and whilst I've witnessed one or two glitches I didn't actually find it bad at all. I certainly wouldn't say it glitches like a motherfucker.
When YOU get stuck fighting the Leviathan by yourself because your homeboy Dom was stuck walking on water 600 yards away, THEN you can say you "didn't actually find it bad at all".

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I'll play tonight. That way I can tell Taco that he's delicious.

Or something else.

Because that would just be gay.

VERY GAY.
