Ack, I wish they had just continued the Animated Series.
I swear, it was the funniest thing Kevin Smith has ever been involved in. Randal is the best character ever. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Yeah, this movie was great.
Definately on par with the first film, but I still have to give the animated series the nod as being the funniest (plus it cuts out all the "gross-for-gross sake" elements). The segues back and forth between "comedy scene" and "romantic drama" were a bit clunky. Everytime we went back to Dante and Rosario Dawson, I thought to myself, "Booooooring." I mean, sure it paid off at the end to have that plot & character build-up, but it could have been blended together with the fart and dick jokes better instead of feeling like another film entirely. Spoiler:
While I feel that it wasn't as funny or cool (as in "underground cult film") as Clerks 1, it definately tied up the story and fleshed out the characters. Plus, Elias was absolutely hilarious. I was hoping for more lines from him. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
