CPU usage around 100%- winlogon.exe and systemidleprocess both around 50% cpu usage

Today all of a sudden my cpu usage has constantly become around 100% (it never goes back to normal). After I reboot the computer, it happens right after I log in. I've ran multiple spyware programs, registry cleaners, and an antivirus scan and got rid of all problematic files, but the problem still persists. Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it?

Thanks.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The file is located in c:\windows\system32\drivers.

Do you mean switch it off in the norton antivirus settings (the automatic updates)?

Also, it isn't the temperature; the temperature is around 80 degrees in my room and it has been much hotter with no problems (for many years).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

But why would it start acting up out of nowhere? Also, how can it be norton if the problem occured in safe mode? I thought programs that aren't necessary for proper system functioning don't function in safe mode?

Did it resolve for you eventually?

I was speaking idiomatically.

At the moment, agent.exe is taking up 30% if the cpu and ISUSPM.exe is taking up around 15% of the cpu. Also, there is a program that just says system (not system.exe). Is all of this normal?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I uninstalled it before but it did nothing so I reinstalled it.

Additional Spam:
I checked another forum and someone posted this:

---

I think I found the problem.
Disabling the COM Port cause the problem to disappear in the last 3 days.
The device disabled is NetMos PCI Serial port.
Search the web and found someone else that had the same problem.
See http://groups.google.com/group/micro...8a176b28569471

---

Could that be the problem? What exactly is that?

It didn't change anything. I clicked disable for the communications port icon in the ports section. Are there any other COM ports?

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
