It feels like the background noise is getting louder
![]() At least the dance music choices are pretty good. It would be just AWFUL if you had to sit and wait with horrible music to boot. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
God damnit. I was doing fine till the tennis presentation with Miyamoto, the feed just died on me and isn't connecting now. I'm not even going to try it anymore, so sick of that advert. I'll just download the whole show later and watch the rest.
How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
I absolutely loved how they had crappy players demoing the games, made it much more believable it was actual gameplay. I was laughing my ass off in delight when he kept shooting with the shotgun and missing.
Also, the second a downloadable video is available, I want links. EDIT: I thought I saw a renamed Ouendan amidst the DS game lineup, but someone in chat said no and I'm doubting they knew what they were talking about. Can anyone confirm this........... Most amazing jew boots ![]()

Looks like touch screen buttons for looping and u-turns, and a meter for the brake. Meh, hopefully it works.

The controller itself looks a bit iffy, but the dpad and face button placement looks wonderful.
Playing the Virtual Console just got so much more appealing. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
The remote's speaker is troubling me a little. I see the potential, yes I do. Imagine a 3D adventure/thriller title, and a character leans close to you to whisper something, and you hear it from the remote, so you need to physically lean closer to it. Or a game where you carry a watch with a video system and you get messages through it and physically have to listen in on your wrist.
But me, I play using headphones. My TV's speakers are pretty shitty and using headphones lets me cut out all the rest of the noise in my house, not to mention play at night without waking everyone. I just really, really hope there is an option in the games themselves to switch off the speaker usage (instead of a simple off switch on the controller), that would route all remote speaker sounds to regular speakers (headphones). FELIPE NO ![]() |

There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
The dpad looks off center a little, that might be a bit awkward =/
It's understandable since they want the twin sticks in there too, but the whole thing looks cramped. They could have simple made a SNES pad replica and I'd be perfectly happy. The dpad itself and the face button placement are still so dreamy. I can't wait to try that. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
![]() ![]() ![]() I'm sure Acer came up with the colors all by himself, and it's not like Nintendo ever provides their consoles in different colors. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
I think they felt a bigger secret was the Wii Connect 24 thing. I'll just unplug it for the night anyway, but it's a nice concept.
Also: ![]() Sorry, Sony and Microsoft are done, why lie. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
It was a joke, for pete's sake. As if even a ridiculously overpriced and money-losing console would even dent Sony, much less Microsoft. FELIPE NO ![]() |
And you won't, they didn't reveal it.
![]() What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
BIG DAMN TRUCK
Also, anyone interested, there's a 400x300 video of the whole Nintendo conference for download at http://www.vgpro.com/file/15549_e320..._800k.wmv.html There's direct downloads, but I used the torrent with 114 seeds, so dunno how the speeds are for those. The torrent came fast. Although I have no idea why the page says it's 385.4 MB (404121190 bytes) when the file in the torrent is 260MB. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Still no sign of the hi-res press conference video? Come on you IGN insiders, upload, upload
![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Wow, that gun looks awful. I hope they're not seriously going to go with that, so awkward. Anyone who's ever used a gun will be weirded out with having the "barrel" so low =x
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I certainly won't be RE5. Nintendo's console might easily end up a dumping ground for spinoffs and "sidestories" like the GC did (besides Capcom's input of course). I doubt any of the major thirdparty franchises will be moving to Wii anytime soon, but if the spinoffs are good, who's to complain.
That said, I haven't read the E3 reports, but from what I've followed, I've yet to see a single Konami title. Has Konami announced anything actually noteworthy for the Wii yet? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
![]() Waaait wait wait, don't tell me the classic controller plugs into the wiimote and requires batteries, god no ![]() EDIT: Oh dear lord it does ![]() Rats. So these things work on regular batteries instead of coming with a rechargable one? I was speaking idiomatically. ![]()

I dunno, lower development costs and more approachable development didn't exactly help the GC, despite what everyone thought.
If a developer feels a console won't reach their intended audience, they just won't bother, sadly. The business being as shallow as it is (as exemplified by the multiple naysayers in this thread as well), Nintendo may still risk being branded "for children" and this will sadly scare the living daylights out of most publishers.

The analogue stick placement is similar to the Dual Shock. The button layout is identical to the SNES controller's setup, which the Dual Shock then copied. Last I checked, an analogue stick is not a set of buttons and it utterly confounds me why they'd acknowledge the shape of the pad, but fail to acknowledge who made the layout in the first place. Goddamn misinformed "information". It's crap like this and the guy on the news talking excitedly what a revolutionary concept the Dual Shock 3's movement sensor is that pisses me off. IT'S NOT EVEN A MOVEMENT SENSOR, IT DOES NOT DETECT MOVEMENT YOU ASSMONKEYS. FELIPE NO ![]()

I don't see region free happening for Nintendo, but it would be a dream come true if it did. There really are no other obstacles left other than publishers being greedy. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
I just got the new issue of Edge today (their e3 report took forever) and there was something I hadn't seen reported elsewhere, regarding the Virtual Console and the controller.
![]() If this is to really happen, I for one would be extremely happy, while I'd guess a good quantity of people would feel extremely ripped off about even more separately sold add-ons. Great (possible) news for retro nuts in either case. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
