Greatest romantic comedy ever. I've never watched the anime, but the omission of Nikaido didn't sound well.
The manga, however, is still superb. Funny, mature, touching and sweet. Excellent cast of characters, most of them fleshed out wonderfully. The humor is a mix of warm, Takahashi-wacky and intelligent, the setting and mood completely irresistible. Easily Takashi's finest work and anyone who likes a feel-good manga should read it all. I've read the old 14-volume Viz release, but am so happy they've rereleased the whole series in its original 15 volume format and am actually still trying to save up so I can buy the whole set. There's a lot of manga I like and enjoy, but Maison Ikkoku remains one of the few titles I truly love (others include NausicaƤ, Dance till Tomorrow and Peach Girl). Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

Oh go on. You like Yotsuba too. And since you like Maison Ikkoku anime, I'm sure you'll love the manga. Just remember it has a few characters and incidents not in the anime and vice verca.
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
There's a bunch of DVD boxsets (8, it seems) for it, I assume they finished releasing it.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
